Sun's Stoudemire Wouldn't Mind Trade.

The rumor that the Phoenix Sun's might 'trade' Stoudemire has been simmering for some time. But where--or with whom? The 'contenders' probably aren't willing to part with key personnel to satisfy Phoenix, making such a trade a little difficult, and money, alone, is not part of the equation.

The offensive system used by some of the contenders is quite difficult to absorb this late in the season....actually, one contender, AKA, Los Angeles Lakers. They really don't need him.Plus, 'ZEN' is out of the question. Andrew Bynum should be back in a couple of months (fingers crossed), and Phoenix would probably want Lamar Odom---out of the question.

The other serious contenders---Boston,Cleveland,San Antoni, and New Orleans have no 'tradable' (realistic) players, either. This is assuming that the Suns would want a 'Big Man' in return.

I would not be surprised if Stoudemire ended up in New York. Afterall, his career flourished while D'Antonio coached the Suns. The hold-up might be due to the lukewarm relationship existing betwen D'Antoni and the Sun's GM, Steve Kerr.

Something should happen either during the All-Star break, or shortly thereafter.

Shit, I hope the Knicks can get him! We may make playoffs with him!

At least for the next year or 2 till his contract gives and then get LeBron.

Would love to see him wind up on the Hornets. In fact, it's a perfect fit for both teams if they trade him for David West. Phx needs a PF that can consistently stick that 15-20 footer and the Hornets needs a big man with more of a post presence. Amare will be able to play with his back to the basket on offense, but he will NOT have to guard opposing centers since they already have Chandler. And with CP throwing the passes, he will not miss Nash one bit. And West will not have to play the post at all (not his strongsuit), since they already have Shaq.

Perfect fit

If Norleans isn't pursuing this deal, then they are not serious about challenging for a title

That's probably the 'best' fit, and makes the most sense!

Yeah but I think they are trying to trade him somewhere to the east..! Don't wanna have to meet up with him 5+ more times this season, and then again in the Playoffs..! If he is in the East then they (PHX) can just worry about him if they meet up in the finals..!
But what do I know.. I'm A Knick Fan..!:lol::lol:

Come on David Stern force Stoudemire to come to NY..!

It would surprise me to see him get traded to another team in the west. And the Knicks are become to Phoenix what the Timberwolves are to the Celtics..so don't be surprised in they move David Lee to get Amare.

His best fit is NY. :) Phoenix gets to ship him out of conference and NY gets a LEGIT superstar. I love D Lee and I think he should have been an All Star this year but Stoudemire is a household name already. I don't think there would be too much fan backlash if Lee is traded for Amar'e

Amare to the Hornets for David West makes even more sense than the Shawn Marion/Jermaine O'Neal trade

It makes sense but I doubt that Phoenix would want to trade him to a conference foe. It's like when the Lakers got rid of Shaq. They wanted him gone but they didn't want to have to face him on a regular basis either.

Teams usually won't make trades within the same division, but make trades with the same conferences all the time and in every sport. As difficult as it is to even make a trade, why would any franchise (which is a business first) limit themselves to dealing with only 50% of the market?? Limiting yourself to 75% of the market (by omitting doing business with teams in your division) is bad enough from a business aspect. So, don't know where that argument is even coming from.

With Porter gone, he may not be going anywhere...

Here is some of the latest trade possibilities with Amare:

Two rival executives we spoke with Sunday night immediately wondered whether the Suns' decision to replace Terry Porter with Alvin Gentry would convince Phoenix to "tap the brakes," as one put it, on its Stoudemire talks. If the Suns are going to try to recapture a semblance of what they had under Mike D'Antoni, with the only holdover from D'Antoni's staff taking over, you can understand why Gentry would prefer to have Stoudemire for the rest of the season to help the cause.

The Suns, though, had to eat more than $4 million in guaranteed money by firing Porter barely halfway through his first season, which won't exactly ease owner Robert Sarver's financial concerns at a time when his payroll is nearly $5 million over the luxury-tax line. So Phoenix could well decide to proceed with its plans to trade the 26-year-old, who was last seen starting for the West in the All-Star Game in the Suns' building.

As we await clear signs as to whether Stoudemire indeed remains in play -- which should be forthcoming Monday -- we can confirm that many teams still see Chicago as the most likely trading partner for the Suns.

One source close to the situation maintains that the Suns have a standing offer from the Bulls for Stoudemire that would definitely deliver blossoming forward Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden's $7.2 million expiring contract. The Suns like those two pieces. A lot.

Unclear is how much more Chicago would be willing to put into the deal.

Joakim Noah? Thabo Sefalosha? A first-round pick?

Still think he'll probably go. Long as the Suns have Shaq, they won't be a primary running team and doubt if the big guy is the one dealt. Stoudamire has to be on the blocks (on offense) to be most effective

You know what the stupid thing is that is that no one is considering how this will affect Steve Nash's game - he is used to the quick style of Amare running down and catching dunks off his passes - not waiting for Shaq to get settled into a post and then feed him the ball.

This will cut down his assists and make him less effective ... its not like hes 30 where he can still penetrate and dish out to players anymore... I have drafted and I know he misses games everyone once in a while with back spasms.

This is a disastrous season for the Suns. :smh:

2 years ago they were the most fun team to watch and now - just pathetic.

Everyone on the Suns got an Ego trip... Dumbass Shawn Marion wanted to the the main man :smh: - now hes in Canada paying double on his taxes :smh:

THe owner was stupid not to sign Joe Johnson as well. I think he regrets that now I heard this All Star break.

Don't be surprised if it is NASH who ends up on the Knicks instead of Stoudamire. Maybe not this season, but next year.

This problem could arise with a "fire sale", because 'reason' and 'logic' are lost in lieu of getting $$$$ and getting rid of large contracts!

If he does get traded it would be to the Bulls. Chicago would send Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden, who contract comes off the book this season.

They would probably have to part with Daniel Gibson and possibly Varejao. Both of them would make an immediate impact.

That's probably THE only way they would trade with the Cavs, and the reason the Cavs would say NO...giving up young frontline players, i.e., Gibson, Varejo, etc. Sadly, that's all they have to trade. If that were to happen, Lebron is definitely gone when his contract expires!

So much for him going to the Hornets. Even if he does go now, he'll have to play center on defense now and it won't be the same. Damn. Hornets fucked up big on this trade unless they have another 7 footer that can defend that I don't know about
:(

They don't...

I guess they will be starting Hilton Armstrong now
