I tried to tell yall.I've trained with Nick for years and see what he is capable of.Because he started with and excells in BJJ,people assume his striking isn't premium.I won't name names,but this dude hangs with guys that EXCELL in boxing.NO MMA cat is going to KO him.He is getting better and better every year too.You can't KO him,you cant submit him,you can't outlast him.The only way to beat him is to take him down,pray he doesn't submit you,and hop you get the decision.

PS- Jake Shields will beat GSP.He is +350 right now so you will get 3.5 times what you bet.Its ridiculous that he is that much of an underdog.Jake commits to and always gets the takedown.He has fought much better fighters than GSP,worst matchups,and still wins.His cut is going much better than the last one and he will win this fight.DONT SAY I DIDN'T TELL YALL.

He works out with Andre Ward that's his boy and Andre is a beast with the hands.

I've heard he spars with Andre Ward, an Olympic gold medalist.

I know Tito Ortiz sux with the hands. Allan Green said his trainer, John David Jackson, knocked him out cold in the ring.

I agree with you on Shields winning. My only concern is that he will be weight drained.

:dance:

word...Diaz just don't give a fuck....:lol::dance:

I'm looking forward to seeing how well Shields performs at UFC 129. Gotta pull for GSP (reppin' Canada and all), but I definitely respect Shields' game ... and as noted ... he misjudged the weight cut at UFC 121 back in October 2010 and had to lose some 20lbs in the final 24 hours or so, leaving him drained against Kampmann. Speaking of Kampmann - we bumped into him at the Cheesecake Factory on the Friday night before the fight there in Anaheim a few miles from the Honda Center. He was off to the side reading a menu in the front entrance, and then went outside and got some fresh air when the dinner crowd got too busy in the front entrance/lobby. He was sportin' a cap and black UFC hoodie and nobody recognized him and then my bro' goes - "Yo ... that's Kampmann over there. I'm gonna go and wish him well tomorrow ..." - but yeah - should be cool to see Shields do his thing later this month. He's already proven himself with Rumble on the Rock, Strikeforce, Pro Elite, Elite XC and such over the years. His record speaks for itself and he's done the damn thing at 170 and 185. Also - his boys are fighting this weekend (MELENDEZ/DIAZ) on the Strikeforce card, and Nick's bro Nate is on the UFC 129 card with him (Shields), as is Daniel Roberts as well (his brother is a UFC fam' member here). Jake, Daniel and Gil' noting it's been good to have all of them peaking in the same month for their events 3 weeks apart ... NICK / NATE / JAKE / DANIEL / GILBERT ... they've got a solid crew.

Your fellow countryman GSP training BJJ with Adonis (boxer from Montreal I posted earlier):

BTW,

This was the first time I have EVER heard/seen Nick Diaz talk like a defeated fighter. I hope he wins and makes as Dana White would like to see him out the UFC. Why, I have NO idea.

Thanks for the GSP clip and the boxing links, Johniz. I am gonna catch the final half of Bellator in a bit. Watched it and hit the gym. Don't have Showtime here, so I'll catch Strikeforce this coming week at some point.

Yeah - NICK is in an interesting position. He's been at odds with Dana White for years. His brother won TUF years ago and has been under contract for a decent number of years and has done reasonably well. Daniel Roberts has done well the past year or two. Jake's proven himself in various organizations over the years and made his way to the UFC last year. Nick's on a nice winning streak at present. The UFC recently bought Strikeforce. Melendez is doing the damn thang at 155 and we weren't gonna see a fight between him and Eddie Alvarez anytime soon (Bellator champ) even though they'd both like it. Hence Melendez noting tonight he feels as though he's top dog at 155, and let's unify these things soon ... wants to get in there and battle Frankie Edgar. Also ... Diaz has wanted to fight GSP for a few years. What happens if JAKE pulls the upset in 3 weeks leaving him the 170 champ? Will he and Nick ever battle? Or are they at odds with that notion (similar to AKA with Koscheck/Fitch not wanting to battle)?

Also, some of the blogs and MMA podcasts were noting Nick probably realizes he's still in a difficult predicament. The money he's making is good, but not 'great' or on the level he thinks he could be cashin' ... sort of like being in the sister site/division or The #2 (Strikeforce) to the big dawg itself.

I don't know about that. You say Shields will beat GSP. I doubt that. I seen Shields fight that dude Martin Kampmann and he looked horrible. I thought Kampmann won that fight. There isn't too many people I see beating GSP in his weight class.

Jake cut a grip of weight for that fight.And still willed his way to a win.He is looking much lighter now.
