STREET FIGHTER IV Official BGOL Thread + Video Review!

I've never seen someone play well with a vega in this game. YOu damn near whooped my ass with him. I was humbled for a minute. Vega raped dhalsim and I didn't think that could happen.

:D when you first caught with the "devastator" (you and i know what i'm talkin about) I sat back like  then :smh: then   that's what it's all about. yo fifth... can the se stick be modded or replaced with better parts?

To Street Fighter players

How long did it take you to get use to the feel of the game???

The game is slow as fuck. It feels like I'm walking through mud.

Especially when you've been playing Third Strike for 5 years.

I love the game, it's just something I've been wondering about...
I've been back to playing Street Fighter EX2 Plus Alpha on PSP since December. Only took about 2 hours to get into the groove and figure out proper use of focus attack and such.

Yeah Im adding a headset now thats why i had to leave I didnt have a headset port. Its tough typing with this bitch LOL! I made this from some old wood and plexi I had and I bought the parts from lizardlick electronics.

All told I spent maybe 100 beans and still had shit left over. I have some spare buttons and everything. Not bad and its tough nice weight and very precise. Better than that bullshit they selling i imagine. been using these two for about a year now without a hitch.

Oh and the devastator move...what can i say. Its my staple...I always get :eek::eek: type reactions when i pull that off in front of people :lol::lol:

I will show a picture later of what the insides look like. Its very repair friendly but like i said I haven't had to tinker with it till today. I need a headset port on this bitch

I still have my schematics and whats needed if you want it. You just need some tools for the cutting and a decent size work area. I have a workshop, funny enough I used to build arcade cabs once upon a time as a hobby...niccas used to stay camped out at my house. Tourneys till 4am in the morning...thats when I had more time and no responsibilites...LOL

yeah someone brought one to me and wants a happ (mvc style stick) put in. You will have to dremel out a lil of the inside. Probably make a plasitc plate for the bigger hole I would imagine. I haven't done it yet but when i get around to it I will take notes and post pics so you can do it yourself. Provided ur handy. BTW sanwa buttons make a huge difference. The stick I have with the seimitsu buttons seems too slow for me.

I thought it was just me. Yeah the game feels slow. Like you said I thought it was because I've been playing all these other fighting games and they were faster paced (DOA4, MVC2, CVS2,3rd Strike, Guilty Gear, Tekken 5, etc). I thought there was an option to turn up the speed like Alpha (Turbo1, Turbo2), but I guess not. It feels like Super Street Fighter 2 speed. With that said, I'm getting use to it now. My timing is improving. I'm liking more charge characters on here so far (Balrog, Vega, Guile). I'm really liking Abel, Sakura, and Rose too. I'm not quite there yet, but am ready to play anyone just to see how I measure up so far. Win or Lose. I'm not like some of these people online that are worried about their win/loss percentage. That's what I really hate on MK vs. DC. It's not like I'm paying 50 cent per game anymore:D

O.Red I've played with Dan....he has improved over previous versions of him.

He's been upgraded from "totally worthless" to "ok":D

 it aint about the stick so much as it is about skill. i don't even use my street fighter iv stick because i don't like the feel. i use the standard microsoft controller.

Just play on Player Match and nobody will be worried about their stats. That shit is for Ranked Match settings.

Co-sign. It ain't like those expansive sticks make you not suck. I rock the default 360 controller's analog stick and I ain't losing.

2 days for me but i been away from sf for a while, personally im used to mvc2 so this shit feels like quicksand but im learning. Its so much more fun to me than 3rdstrike but in a different way. Lots of depth. I think im gonna make sim my main and leave Ryu alone.

Co-sign. The only thing I wish Capcom kept from 3rd Strike is the parry system (even though I sucked at it) and being able to choose which Super Move you wanted. That combined with the ultra meter would've been extra dope.

any tips on using the charge characters the timing seems to be off in this game to me

I always start charging right when I initiate a combo, and follow through once I get to that "point." For instance with Bison and a fully charged Ultra meter, I'll jump in with a Hard kick, start charging, drop down with a Crouched Medium kick, and unleash the Ultra kind of halfway between the Medium kick and when it's finished.

And I need to find one of those pads or a Hori stick, I've been thinking about picking up SC IV, and I just got a working Street Fighter Anniversary Collection bootleg that's compatible with the 360. How'd you build your sticks?

um basic wood frame build...the inside is comprised of a broken down madcatz 360 pad desoldered and then resoldered to a barrier strip.

I cabled the buttons and the stick, mounted and then once i had everything done top mounted the control panel to the "box" and was done. It sound simple but that was about a week of work the first time. The wiring took the most time.

I ruined 3 or 4 madcatz pads before i got it right. The second time took me 2 days. I actually like that stick better because I learned from the first one and made it bigger.

I have big hands so I have more palm space and my moves come out smoother. The reason i made a second is to see the difference between sanwa and seimitsu and THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. I can give you a grocery list if you want.

Most of the construction stuff can be gotten at home depot or lowes and then you can get the parts for the stick from lizard lick. The guy who owns it is cool his name is chad. Prices are ok but its here in the states and its super fast shipping too. Sorry for rattling on...

I FINALLY GOT AKUMA AND GOUKEN ON YOU HOES!!!!!!

RIGHT NOW IM JUST WATCHING THEM PLAY EACH OTHER ON HARDEST.

PROPS FOR THE HELP.

I think I am addicted to this game. I was playing all last night without a break. My hands are extremely sore today.

I cant get Gouken to save my life. I did do the 2 perfects and 3 ultra's and he didnt come out after i beat seth. Ive been trying all day but cant get the 2perfects. Can you get one in one match and one in another  Cause i usally end up getting hit so i do the ultra finish and get 1 perfect and 1 ultra, then cant get another perfect match to save my life.:angry:

did you beat the game with the unlocked players to first?
