Steve Jobs : I'll Spend all Apple’s money to destroy Android

I've always wondered this. Given Android lets you do whatever you want to it... What personally, do you actually do? (serious question)

Everytime I have this conversation, I get a response about widgets, and how they can place them wherever they want... Then I ask "honestly, do you actually use those widgets"... and I get a :(

free wireless tethering.....
google maps with turn by turn navigation.... brut nav gives you turn by turn all over the world... custom roms..... flash... true multitasking.... live wall papers... removable memory and battery.... standard usb charger....free wireless music downloading a.k.a. no itunes.....custom ringtones....
screen shots....

Here's a few, I can download files directly to my phone, like megaupload, fileserve links.
I can also download free music with my phone. No need to jailbreak it to do that.I can download a .rar file and extract it's contents on my phone. I've yet to see an IOS device allow me to do that.

Out the box my android phone performs much more like my computer, I dont have to do "special warrenty voiding tricks" to get certain things to work.

that answered his question. maybes he's asking the wrong people.

iphone user response: "we dont need that."
Apple announces they can now do it: "holy shit, check this out, no company has ever done this before"

There isn't one Android phone that has sold 4,000,000 units in 2 days.

The problem with Android is that they still don't have that "it" phone that the mass market will flock to. They have a lot of great phones, some better than the iphone, but still nothing that creates buzz like the iphone does. I think that the new Droid RAZR will be that one phone that will be a direct competitor to the iphone if its advertised right. I can see the Droid RAZR 2 next year doing some serious damage if this first RAZR Droid phone is successful.

The Droid Razr compete due to its stupid name.

Exactly. Verizon is gonna market this phone like no other Android phone has been marketed in the past.

I actually meant to say that the Droid Razr will not compete with the 4S due to its horrible name. If they marketed this as the Razr exclusively then I think it would have had a shot but the dual naming will only hurtnthe RAZR brand in my opinion. Why would you attach the droid name to the world's best selling phone prior to the iPhone?

It's only called the "Droid Razr" in the U.S. It's called the "Motorola Razr" everywhere else in the world. This first RAZR will do good. Not anywhere near the iPhone 4s, but it will sell very well, especially in Europe.

I dont mean to fuel the fire of the Apple vs Android war, but....

The upcoming authorized bio of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson will uncover much about the man. The book goes on sale on Monday but somehow the Associated Press purchased one ahead of time. They took the time and wrote some initial thoughts, which are quite revealing of how Jobs operated and his quest for perfection and simplicity. However, there was a side of Jobs that was downright nasty. According to the book the relationship with once Apple Board member Eric Schmidt, who was also CEO of Google, was immediately tarnished when Android was officially launched in 2010. Apparently Jobs “was livid” and accused Google “grand theft” for how the OS operated.

Jobs stated “I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this”. I would say that’s a bit more than being “livid”.

Majority of the manufacturers are helping with the growth of Android, Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson and Motorola have all committed to releasing more devices with the Android OS. A recent Gartner study predicts that Google’s Android OS will capture 48.8% of the smartphone market share by 2015, Apple will have 17.2%.
