I watched the video you didn't. I did not get the impression from the video, that he is trying to influence anybody not to vote. He was on live and somebody asked him if he was going to vote and this was his response. Like many things thats posted online these days, they only post a snippet, and folks just runaway with the conclusions.

If voting doesnt matter, can Stephen Jackson tell us the reason why the Repubs have been constantly using their valuable resources to suppress black votes? That should be proof enough that voting does matter. He might as well be working for the Trump campaign.
Voting is game, and you dont have a chance of winning anything if you sit on the bench and dont play. Of course there will be cheating since the stakes are so high, but the cheating and vote suppression efforts will hardly have an impact when the adversary is KO'd by a landslide victory.
Also, these celebrities need a basic Civics lesson on checks and balances. Obama couldnt hardly do shit the last 6 years of his presidency because Repubs controlled half or the full Congress. He couldnt even get his last SCOTUS pick voted on because Repubs controlled the Senate.
