Stephen A. responds to Russell Westbrook

Gotta agree with SA on this. When your getting paid $206 million, people expect a championship. Not just a show. Championships matter to every franchise.

I disagree. Only 1 team wins a championship per year, that means 29 others wont. The entire premise of placing these NBA players worth based on a superficial thing as a championship ring just isn't believable anymore. LeBron has 4 and is still the most scrutinized athlete in sports. KD has 2 and is seen as a bitch ass nigga by most sports fans. Kobe Bryant has 5 and they are never mentioned anymore by his fans since he died, he couldnt take them with him. NBA championships are worthless and hold no value outside of sports media and fans cherry picking the athletes they respect off them. Russ is a HOFer and will go down as one of the best of his era, championship or not. That is success. Russ gets paid to perform at a high level his salary isn't predicated on winning chips. And expecting him to win a chip in a sports town like Washington isnt realistic.

man normally you be on here fucking with these dudes hard but this some real shit...

there are quite a few players with contracts like his....................sadly to say.....they too are highly unlikely to win a championship
there can only be one.

And for the record Stephen A's favorite athlete all time is Michael Jordan. A guy who went on national TV and said he's not Black, he human, and who never used his platform to help his community.

Placing worth in a piece of jewelry is the only way the Stephen A's can convince you his favorite athlete is special and unique from others (even though he dont even have close to the most). Jordan stans tend to be superficial and prioritize exceptionalism amongst Black men to distinguish greatness. All for white approval and acceptance.

Yes, he's absolutely a HOFer. But, to say championships don't matter is 100% contrary to what the ownership and management believe. To believe that Wizard fans.........or those original Bullet fans don't want a championship is crazy. No one wants to pay to see their team just play and have one person balling. At this point in his career, other than the money, why play if it's not about winning?

TO been a coon.

Had a good black QB and did everything to tear him down.

Had a white QB and sheds tears defending him after he played like trash.

I dont want to hear from TO.

You have to be an Eagles fan to come up with that BS..lol McScrub went out of his way to shit on T.O. during that season saying they didn't need him blah blah blah. T.O. fought to come back when most players would have packed it in for the season & went on IR, that ankle injury was that bad. McScrub is the one that choked in the super bowl throwing up..lol

Problem is he plays for the WIz a TERRIBLE organization from a management stand point.

Nah I disagree, there’s one winner every year. Every one else is technically a loser.

A triple double shoes that you’re doing everything on the court to help your team succeed. If they don’t succeed, that’s not all on you.

Yes Russ played with great players, one player teamed up with Steph on a championship team to win his rings. Harden teamed up with KD and Kyrie in hopes of getting a ring.

No matter how great one player is no matter how great his numbers it’s a team game.

This guy had 3 rings

Is he a better player than Russ? Is his impact better, is his career more complete?

No, he was just in the right situation.

Not the same argument. The point is Westbrook is an elite player. He's done things very few can accomplish. So, what's left?? Winning a championship.

Yes it would be nice to win a championship, that’s the goal. But that doesn’t make his career less great. :dunno:

Westbrook had 35 points, 21 assists and 14 rebounds and Stephen A had the audacity to say that he doesn’t care about his numbers?

What, he needs to step it up and average 70ppg, 40 assists and 30 rebounds to assure his team wins?

GTFOH, the man’s doing everything he can to get his teams wins. He definitely could be a better shooter though.

SAS is right. Russ is a stat monger that ain’t about winning.

Fuck that ‘I’m a winner in life bullshit’. So has every athlete that made it to the NBA if that’s the case.
