I would of invited him in to the party,eat some pizza,cake,chips and whatever else we had for his birthday party and she would of just had to shut up until everything was over UNLESS he came to disrupt the party then he would have to go on his own or by the police.
The child would of enjoyed that party,dad or no dad,mom or no mom first and they could of fought in the back alley somewhere,I wouldn't of cared where just not there at that party at that time.
Someone has to do the thinking and maybe after seeing something on both sides maybe being a stepfather isn't for you but that's for you to decide and for them to come to some resolution or war it out but I personally wouldn't be in the middle of that battle.

I'm so tired of seeing this bullshit.
Overall, I agree with what you are saying. However, it's kind of simplifying complex situations.
I don't think it's a fear of child support as much as the potential expense of continually going to court. In alot of cases the men are likely already paying child support and custody issues are generally considered a separate matter anyway. Even if a lawyer isn't necessarily needed, the man would still need to show up for court,so he's potentially losing money depending on the type of benefits his job has. This may have changed over the years but there was a time where taking sick leave or vacation meant going unpaid at lower level jobs. Some jobs still enforce penalties for missing days. It's also the fact that men have been programmed to believe going to court is a waste of time.
As far as allowing a parent around who isn't consistent, I'm torn on the issue. People who do this generally aren't reliable and make promises to the kids that aren't made right. No one wants to hold their kid all night with them crying because the other parent decided they had better things to do. The other reason they may not come around is being ashamed about not being able to provide or something else going on. Either way, the other parent has to repair the damage. Then you have the parents who only come around for photo ops to give friends and family the impression they are involved in the kids life more than they are. Long term this isn't good for the mental health of the kid. On the other hand, the kid gets to form their own opinion of the parent instead of being protected from the truth.
Assuming the video is real the kid didn't seem interested in the father. Was he not around because of issues with the mother or his own choices we don't know. Let's assume he really wasn't consistently there for his son in the past and it had nothing to do with the mom. Accept that you're not welcomed, but return another day and do so consistently. You have to earn the mother and child's trust that you'll actually be an involved parent and more importantly your child will desire you to be around regardless of the opinion of the mother or stepfather. Why allow your ego to fuck up your kids event?
For the stepfather, you should try to stay out of these affairs as much as possible. At best, you should try to work as a middle man between the parents and encourage the father wanting to be involved. When you decided to get involved with a woman with kids, you indirectly made that man an extended member of your family. You can't be insecure about the relationship with the child or potentially with the mother. If you don't want to deal with another man in your relationship, you really should avoid women with kids. Again, assuming the video was real I don't respect the actions of the stepfather. It came off like he was more concerned about his place in the family and not the long term interest of the child. If the father was trying to force himself into the house, I could understand but he didn't really seem to be any real danger which is surprising under the circumstances.

On the real side, I feel you 1000 percent. And it is sad that many, many men have gone broke in this unjust, favorable to women, family court system -- and that is just the white men. We know by the income information that is readily available that white men are more able to afford legal help and they get crushed in family court.

If the real dad shows up I'm cool on that as long as he not there to disrupt things. If the mom don't want him there she need not even entertain that bullshit, just call them people and get back to the festivities.

Thx bro, And that’s sad. When I took the stand I pounded her ass into submission so bad the judge asked her why are you here in my court? I continued to pay child support the entire time leading up to court. Paid for his insurance everything, etc. He awarded me the win and I had my son two days later. Had to call the police/sheriff on her ass to be ready because she wasn’t acknowledging the court order. My son ran to me. When I picked him up I told her she wasted her money. Didn’t get anything for her efforts. And whenever you want my size 13 Converse in your ass again just let me know. Bitch. I however got more than I asked for. Summers are split, one week on and off. 3 weeks total vacation in addition to that. Every other weekend while in school. 1 5 hour play date during the school year, every week, one day per week. Holidays alternate. On my bday and Father’s Day he is with me the entire day. If my weekend goes into a holiday I keep him. He spends more time with me than her.
