I once had an Trinidadian man tell me that people from the West Indies (Trinidad, Jamaica ..etc.) were in fact smarter/stronger than Africans (Africa Americans) that had made it all the way to America.

And the narrative that we were a further boat stop isnt true anyway. Slavery was way more transient in the islands than in the US. Bodies was being shipped and moved much more rapidly. My family straight from Trinidad from the late 60's and some of the shit I heard from friends of family is mindblowing.
Keep in mind that East Indian nonsense still has a hold on some people the same way that British thought has has a hold on some Black people no matter how far away they migrate away from it.
