Starting a web based ad/marketing biz

I'm new to the buisness for self game. Anybody have any tips for building a professional web page and starting/implementing a buisness plan?

I'm sure i'll have more questions once this thread gets going.

hire a good designer if you're not one yourself. Nothing worse than an ugly, bootlegging looking site.

Are you referring to affiliate marketing programs when you say web based ads?
