What's the confusion? It's a piss poor attempt at a Startrek series. Had it been called another space-show then fine. But Startrek? Yeah, not even close.
Bugged me out when I saw Ms Klingon on him. I was like, woooooord?!?! 
the second half of season one started back on sunday.
this is a very well done show. clearly the rotten tomatoes user reviews are being biased by racist sexist white boys. i promise if the lead was a white boy the reviews would be different.
it is borrowing heavily from the original series and it is doing it well. like a well done remix.

Lorca is really from the mirror universe and he came over to the Prime Universe and needed Stamets and Discovery to get back - so he can get back to the task of killing the Emperor and become Emperor -
The Prime Lorca is in the mirror universe and will be found by Burnham - and brought back to the Prime
The Emperor is possible Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh)

I like it, but It has yet to prove that it's a 'real' star trek show.
I'm not just talking about the Roddenberry asthetic or episodic structure either.
It needs to prove that it could be versitile enough like the other series and do comedy, horror, romance, action, sci fi, mystery, philosophy, adventure and political commentary, all in one show.

No you can find it on the internet, I haven't paid to see an episode yet. But it is annoying its not regularly scheduled on mainstream TV. But we are talking about CBS.
Except for the Borg episodes I never really got into TNG. The original Star Trek series IMO was so much better.
and what's sad it's only here in the u.s. thank god for canadian channels because it comes on ctv and space channel. along with a lot of other shows like runaways.

Frankly the only part of the Mirror Universe I liked. Long live the Terran Empire!
They derived most of content from my work making the show 100x more compelling and realistic. Of course the show would be renewed. It is no wonder Star Wars and other movies are doing well at the box office.
