I think rugby should be more popular in America. It's a much faster paced football without passing.

I also think cricket can be a second or third tier sport in America. Every one grew up playing stickball as kids and that's roughly what it is as a sport. It was confusing as hell to watch, but once I read how scoring took place it's a really great game to watch.

Most of these sports played in other parts of the world won't catch on here, because their either really seasonal or expensive to have as recreation.

Watching the rugby world cup earlier this year I was thinking man if they sent even half your best athletes and got rid of some of those cacs you could build a decent team over time, hell the fastest player in the game is a brother

Track and Field, but icon Michael Johnson is trying to change that; he starting a profession track series.

Yeah, this is sad; his track series was exciting until it wasn't.

Michael still claims he was injured.....lol

I still remember watching the '96 Games sprint and relay races live.

One of my best memories was working out and waiting for the sprint before I headed out to play basketball. That result got me so amped. Yelling out in the house. Went down and was super energized on the court that evening.

Hoped for a competitive challenge a year later with Bailey vs. Johnson.

That was glorious, however most Americans from that time remember Canadian sprinting by the 1988 Olympics....

and

Ben is still saying that he was wronged:

Agreed - that was one hell of a moment too.

I remember being in grade school and we were all shocked.

"What?!"
It's interesting, though, because Ben Johnson was born in Jamaica and Donovan Bailey was born in Jamaica so when you think about it their emergence on the scene forewarned the world about the dominance of Jamaican sprinting in the years to come, their juggernaut athletics program, men's and women's, would have a stranglehold on the world for decades.

Agreed. Great seeing the many stellar athletes over the decades.

SPEED!
