WARNING: This post will speak directly to the movie, so if you haven't seen it (or plan to), I'd recommend against reading any further.

Top 5 flaws I noticed in the movie:
- If homie was wanted for a brutal murder (of a woman, at that), there's no way a female attorney would be willing to do most of her consulting w/ him in a 1:1 setting.
- The insults coming from the white mother were way over the top. It's unrealistic to believe that someone would remain quiet w/ those types of insults flying.
- The husband was supposed to be an anesthesiologist, but we're supposed to believe someone w/ that much intelligence would also sit around playing PS5 all day?
- What are the odds of her spotting the "dead chick" on a random island, at a random hotel, during her exact shift? What if that bitch worked in Jamaica instead of DR? Or the Hilton?
- The ending when she stood around in all black, wearing black glasses and a black scarf to hide out. She was literally the only one dressed like that (which would have drawn even more attention).

Entertaining, yes. But this shit was not well thought out. I heard Tyler Perry shoots his movies in a little over a week. I believe it now. The only highlight was fine ass Kelly Rowland. Chick has the body of a 25 year older.

everything you mentioned plus, the first sex encounter. She came back in to his place and saw the white chic riding him. How did her jacket get to the opposite side of the area? Where did they go on his bike and what was the point of them leaving?
The movie sucked.

also, she was this highly intelligent lawyer, who i am sure got hit on all the time, yet she falls for a dude cause he asked her to paint?
And then the old "someone said my man is cheating, so instead of confronting him, i'm just gonna go fuck someone else" cliche.
Then when he came to the office and told her to come to his place....wtf.

movie didnt make sense at all
i see why people say he should let others write
besides kelly rowland getting zoded
shit was confusing as hell

Good observations. Didn't pick up on that.

Tyler definitely has "help" writing.... he has to

I think it's similar to producers who have crews that make beats for them initially

There's not enough hours in a day, week, months and year to write out a full seasons for at least 6 tv shows, this movie... make tv/publicity appearances, coordinate availability of his production studio.....and various other business ventures....

There’s no way a defense lawyer can be related to the prosecutor in a murder case. Immediate grounds for a mistrial/appeal.

As said above, dude was on trial for killing a woman. No way would a reasonable female attorney be alone at his crib

Out of work doc? Nope

Sex club in the basement?

PI giving inconclusive video info? His job is to get good info. Maid, door dash, room service, anyone else to confirm?

At least Kelly looked good

Completely forgot about that conflict of interest. Her attempt to represent homie would have been DOA.

First let me say while I dont watch many TP movies however, I respect the fact that he puts Black characters in different lead roles. Second, I understand the work it takes to get film made especially when you don't have a name like TP and want to get your project out there.

With that said I expected the story to have holes in it not surprised there. As long as TP has been around I wish he’d stop being cheap on production, he’s not making plays anymore put some respect on the craft and draft a solid feature without big gaping plot holes.

There were several missed opportunities to tie in the movie title theme with the character relationships. Kelly Rowland and her husband storyline came to a lazy conclusion. A missed opportunity to redeem their marriage because he should've been a victim of his families ambitions that lead him back to Kelly’s side, instead they villainize him too.

Speaking on family ambitions they gave the plot line away at the dinner table when Kelly’s husband’s brother announced he was running for mayor. And Im no lawyer someone chime in but the fact the brother’s wife had slept with the artist could've been used against his case in some type of retaliatory manner right? How come he didn't point that out early to Kelly. :smh: Why did we have to wait the whole movie for that bogus reveal.

Trevante Rhodes acting was trash, he was boring and monotone. I liked him better in The Predator I think he’s better when he is doing action vs trying to evoke emotional response, but I took his casting for what it was TP casting to feed the soft core porn fantasy eye candy for women viewers more than anything. The whole movie I wasnt worried about his guilt or innocence. Like my nigga they trying to bury you but you still hosting art viewings and hosting sex parties? Aint you worried about your freedom just a little bit? You just know Kelly is the one who is gonna clear your name so carry on business as usual. I think TP fumbled the ball on what was supposed to be a Sharon Stone Michael Douglas moment.

TP is being cheap like the rest of these Hollywood executives. He knows he can cast lesser well known Black talent in his movies for cheap for a greater ROI. I get it Id do the same to get some movies made how Id like them with least drama from actors. But this guy can afford to put out better work but he refuses, that bothers me about his movies. They aspire to mediocrity while he has access to top tier Black talent but hasn't come close to making anything Oscar worthy.

This movie is what you expect, shitting on this movie is like picking on the big retarded kid, yeah he got strength of a grizzly bear but inside he’s harmless as Winnie the pooh.

As soon as this happened I knew the movie was going to suck. No judge would allow this. Not even with consent and waivers.
