M. Night is BACK officially. - This wasn't a secret move with his fingerprints like Devil or The Visit where you find out after like shit that was him? This was promoted with his name. Good for him in the sense that with the success of his early films he felt like he could do everything in the world and found out that he couldn't. It seems he is much more in tune with his limitations now and what scripts to develop and make- when they gave him the juice to do whatever, someone with that kind of imagination is dangerous, you get the lady by the water and other shit because why not? - I know how something like that could easily happen.

Hidden Figures - 100 million dollars. I'm proud to say I bought tickets to see it. 100 million dollars with a movie starring a black woman Slam I need you to check and see what's the record for a black female actress in a non super hero movie. More figures just got greenlit.

Gold- Looks outrageous and not in a must see way but in a once this comes on HBO I'm going to check this shit out on a Saturday night I ain't got no plans.

He is making a lot moves just writing or just producing or taking on smaller budgets mostly his OWN money

on some Tyler Perry

and like that OTHER dude who was making all those bargain basement horror flicks the studio paying him a salary/budget almost pre-paying for the movies before they are even done.

I think his deal ran out of they staring LOSING money but it was VERY PROFITABLE for a minute...some thought it would COMPLETELY redefine the studio process.

Right. I think After Earth got a bad rep. I didn't like it but i've seen films get praised that were worse than that. I think people shitted on that because it being a Jaden film and Will putting his son on.

I saw that movie a second time and it was NOT as bad as they made it out...

MANY blockbuster films have WAY more egregious logic gaps.

and I liked the rite of passage message in that movie.

I think another editor or good script doctor would have incorporated more African cultural tropes about manhood family coming of age rites of passage and it would have been very STRONG message.
 
While HF is a successful palaple take on racism, with outstanding performances, it's premise is bitter sweet when you stop and think how extensively we have been marginalized and held back, even when painfully obvious we are superior. The soul of America will not be redeemed until it accepts it's sins for blatant Black racism. More importantly perhaps we need to focus on how to collectively make ourselves as Black people, mentally, spiritually, and economically, whole again in lieu of the devil. Just some thoughts. Timely and well done movie I'm open.

Underworld...they messed up and should have kept the brother on AND tried to convince Marvel to let them add Blade.

But Resident Evil has a very very very loyal hardcore audience so I understand that, but the timing was off.

Yeah it could've been better don't get me wrong but man they went overboard on that film. They are doing it with all of Will's movie's. They shitted on Concussion, Suicide Squad.....and this new movie that I haven't seen yet.

Yep. You right. IN comparison..........I get why Avatar was so praised because of the vision. It was beautiful to watch and revolutionary. But how was that story any better than After Earth?

I think it looks promising. Chadwick Boseman especially with this new Black Panther flick is about to be that guy.
Michael B Jordan has done a great job of picking roles.

Let's see what Moonlight does after this. There's a few guys in there mainly the main actor and the 17 year old version of the main actor......i'd be looking at them.
