Even if opening-night viewers of Spider-Man: No Way Home had a feeling they'd be seeing three Spider-Men on the big screen, no one knew there were also two Spider-Men sitting in the audience with them.
Andrew Garfield has revealed that he and his fellow web-slinger Tobey Maguire secretly attended a public screening of No Way Home the night it opened in theaters in a new interview with ET.
"I still can't believe it happened," Garfield said. "I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask. In fact, I was also with Tobey. Me and Tobey snuck into a theater together, and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together."

Garfield and Maguire reprised their roles as Peter Parker for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spider-Man film, joining Tom Holland's turn as the hero on a mission to save the multiverse. During the ET interview, Garfield also discussed his feelings about swinging back into the film, having previously donned the iconic red-and-blue suit for 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel.
"First and foremost, I am a fan, so when [producers] Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige and [director] Jon Watts asked to have a word with me and talk to me about an idea, and they pitched it, it was like I was the fans in the audience, watching it on screen for the first time with, like, the three Spider-Men across universes sharing a frame together," the actor recalled.
He continued, "And then, the fact that I get to be one of those people wearing the suit next to my actual Spider-Man hero, Tobey Maguire, and the brilliant, incredibly talented, heartfelt, funny, good, sweet, perfect Spider-Man of Tom Holland, and I get to be the middle brother, and I get to be in awe of my older brother and in full longing to protect my younger brother."
So would Garfield take up the role again? "It would have to be very, very special," Garfield said. "It would have to be very, very meaningful and fun and joyful, like doing No Way Home was."
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters.

While the MCU's newest hero did not end up making her first on-screen appearance in No Way Home, it has been confirmed that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will introduce actor Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez/Miss America. Gomez, who previously portrayed Dawn Schafer in Netflix's reboot of The Baby-Sitters Club, was first reported to have joined the cast of the Doctor Strange sequel in October 2020. While the character has appeared in Marvel's animated TV series, films and video games, this will be the Young Avenger's live-action debut.

Finally broke down and watched the cam. I've never been an actual spidey fan and didn't like the non MCU Spiderman movies, so my perspective was different from most.
I've never had a comic book movie leave me that emotional at the end. Aunt May is dead and the only three people that Peter could truly trust and lean on now don't even know who he is. He's completely alone.
I was surprised that he didn't try to restart his relationship with MJ. Given how much he knew about her, he would have been easily able to pull her again. It made sense though, he didn't want her life to get messed up because of him. He loved her enough to let her go. He basically sacrificed himself to make things right.
Garfield saving MJ made having watched his movies actually worth while. My favorite moment of the movie.
It was incredibly annoying to see the naivete of Peter and Aunt May. I don't care how true to character it was, I was thinking the whole time, stop being a weak bitch and push the fucking button.
This movie pretty much removes him from the MCU. It would take too much time to re-establish relationships for another Avengers movie.
The Venom after credits scene was a let down. The first Venom movie was average at best and I didn't bother watching the second one.

I like how they snuck in the meme with the 3 spider men...
I liked seeing the squiggly lines around Peter head when removed from his body... the fact he was still able to move and Hulk couldn't do shit when he was removed from his... that was crazy...
and the shirt Peter put on when he first got back to the apartment with MJ, that was the shirt Tony gave him when he got pissed and took the suit from him in Homecoming...
expecting a Miles Morales intro soon... referenced in both Homecoming and No Way Home...
I'll have more observations as they come to me... a lot of what I wanted to say was already discussed.
This is my 2nd favorite movie now. Infinity War is still number 1 but this bumped Winter Soldier down to number 3.

I'm a huge Spider-man fan. From the comics to the movies. I grew up with him being my favorit hero. The Venom movie was garbage and I turned the second one off after 10 mins.
A somewhat stupid "observation".
Thor didn't show the creation of Mjolnir.
Ironman didn't show Tony Stark create Jarvis.
Captain America didn't show the creation of his shield.
Antman didn't show Hank Pym creating The Pym Particle.
Black Panther didn't show T'Challa being trained to use his powers.
The Hulk doesn't explain why Bruce's pants stretch when he transforms into The Hulk.

That Peter Parker sure is a plucky little son of a gun. After losing the top spot last weekend to the fifth installment in the Scream franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home came swinging back with a vengeance.
Tom Holland's third solo outing as your friendly neighborhood web-slinger held on with $14.1 million, a $6 million dip from the previous weekend, bringing its cumulative haul to $721 million. Globally, No Way Home is sitting pretty at $1.69 billion, making it the sixth highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing 2015's Jurassic World ($1.67 billion) and 2019's The Lion King ($1.66 billion).
No Way Home has completely defied pandemic expectations, becoming the first movie to hit the $1 billion mark since this pandemic began decades ago in 2020. And Spidey did it in a little over a week.
Last weekend's box office champ, Scream, had a 40% drop from its $30 million opening, but still managed to scare up a decent $12.4 million for a two-week total of $51.3 million, with its global cume approaching $85 million. Starring a mix of fresh and familiar faces from the 25-year-old franchise, the nostalgic love has proven strong for this latest stab at the Ghostface lore.
In its fifth weekend in release, the star-studded, family-friendly animated Sing 2 continued belting it out with $5.7 million, taking its domestic total to $128.4 million. Also in its fifth weekend but not faring nearly as well, The King's Man, the prequel to the popular if uneven spy series, raked in $1.8 million for a cume of $31.5 million domestically, $105 million globally, barely offsetting its $100 million budget.
And rounding out the top five, Redeeming Love, based on the best-selling novel by Francine Rivers about a young couple's relationship clashing with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850, struck it mildly rich with $3.7 million. However, its per-theater average ($1,950) was slightly better than Sing 2's ($1,663).

Mega-blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home finally got the seal of approval from one of the most important figures in the web-slinger's cinematic universe.
Sam Raimi, the director of the first three Spider-Man films Sony Pictures made, recently shared his opinion with Variety on the most recent Marvel Studios film, which brought back his Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe, and Alfred Molina.
"I love No Way Home and the audience I was with went crazy. It was delightful to watch Alfred play his role, and Willem Dafoe, just seeing these guys take it to the next level," says Raimi. "And Tobey was awesome as always. The best word I can say is it was refreshing for me."

Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, which lasted from 2002 to 2007, featuring Maguire as the titular superhero, Dafoe as his nemesis the Green Goblin, and Molina as Doctor Octopus, shattered box office records, and even won an Oscar. Similarly, No Way Home, which brings those characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through a multiverse-shattering spell, is currently the fourth-highest grossing domestic release of all time with $721 million.
Bringing things full circle, Raimi himself has also been brought back to the MCU, with his next film being Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is coming to theaters on May 6, 2022.
