How in the fuck does Bieber make the top 10?

Those Weeknd numbers are crazy.. I thought he would do far more than that

I don't think this includes streams. Some of these albums were certified platinum. Like Bryson Tiller was certified platinum but it says he's at 412k on here.

Looking at Beyonce's sales . . .

. . . she's really not generating interest like she used to, huh?

It seems weird, because Beyonce always came off - to me, anyway - as the biggest star in the western hemisphere. Or at least on the level of the biggest.

She probably still get crazy show money, tho'.

Adele is doing it like that?

Music is so easy to steal these days ...if you can sell a million copies your doing very well.

Adele and Taylor Swift come out the gate with 500k in sales. Beyoncé has a cult following who will buy her singing in Klingon

Naturally people will steal, but look at Adele's numbers. If no one was selling, I'd understand that.

. . . and, once again, Beyonce is huuuge. Drake is above her, and I don't think, at both of their peak, Drake's starpower was nearly as big as Beyonce's.

After Rihanna, who is the next Black woman on the list? Her sister Solange at #139 with less than 10% of her sales? Notice the number of actual Black *singers* on the list? Black "groups"? Times and tastes have changed and those changes are reflected in the charts.

Seems like you're trying EXTRA hard to find any comparative justifications to help belittle and marginalize her current achievements. But do you. I'm not saying... I'm just saying... :dunno:

I didn't knock her accomplishments, I said she seemed to be on a decline. People haven't been buying albums for YEARS, but she was still selling a lot of albums prior to 'Lemonade'.

Beyonce is a megastar, and she didn't achieve that by only appealing to black people. So, using her race is pointless. She's done far greater numbers before, and was black then just like she's black now.

Noticing a downward trend in a megastar sales isn't hate, especially if it isn't intended to be that way. I could very easily say you're being sensitive, but what if you're not?

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE (/əˈdɛl/; born 5 May 1988) is an English singer-songwriter. Graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2006, Adele was given a recording contract by XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on Myspace the same year. In 2007, she received the Brit Awards "Critics' Choice" award and won the BBC Sound of 2008 poll. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success. It is certified seven times platinum in the UK, and three times platinum in the US. An appearance she made on Saturday Night Live in late 2008 boosted her career in the US. At the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009, Adele received the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Adele released her second studio album, 21, in early 2011. The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her debut,[4] earning the singer numerous awards in 2012, among them a record-tying six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year; two Brit Awards, including British Album of the Year, and three American Music Awards. The album has been certified 16 times platinum in the UK, and is the fourth best-selling album in the UK of all time.[5] In the US it has held the top position longer than any album since 1985, and is certified Diamond.[6][7] The album has sold 31 million copies worldwide.[8]

The success of 21 earned Adele numerous mentions in the Guinness Book of World Records.[9] She is the first woman in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have three simultaneous top 10 singles as a lead artist, and the first female artist to simultaneously have two albums in the top five of the Billboard 200 and two singles in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100.[10] 21 is the longest-running number one album by a female solo artist in the history of the UK and US Album Charts.[11][12] In 2012, she released "Skyfall", which she wrote and recorded for the James Bond film of the same name. The song won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song,[13] as well as the Brit Award for British Single of the Year. After taking a three-year break, Adele released her third studio album, 25, in 2015. It became the year's best-selling album and broke first week sales records in the UK and US.[14] 25 was her second album to be certified Diamond in the US.[15] The lead single, "Hello", became the first song in the US to sell over one million digital copies within a week of its release. Her third concert tour, Adele Live 2016, is her largest to date, taking in Europe, North America and Oceania, and will end with four concerts at Wembley Stadium, London in mid 2017.[16]

In 2011, 2012 and 2016, Billboard named Adele Artist of the Year. In 2012, she was listed at number five on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Music.[17] Time magazine named her one of the most influential people in the world in 2012[18] and 2016.[19] With sales of more than 100 million records, Adele is one of the best-selling recording artists in the world.[20]

Damn. Adele almost had back to back diamond albums. For her to even get close to diamond like that in todays market is CRAZY! And from what I heard that was only off that one single Hello, or at least thats the only song ive heard off that album.

:dunno:
Hey a lot of CAC's ain't selling that many records as they used to sell neither

That was EXACTLY my point! 2016 was not 1999! And I assumed that those facts were supported fairly clearly and concisely. But from that WTF personal attack response it elicited, it became apparent that continuing to acknowledge such a glaringly obvious troll trap would be a waste of argument time, so I decided to exit the conversation stage left....

smh at mufuckas that still actually "Buy" albums.
these numbers include streams - youtube spotify tidal etc...
imo real fans buy: albums singles tickets
I don't think this includes streams. Some of these albums were certified platinum. Like Bryson Tiller was certified platinum but it says he's at 412k on here.
Nielsen SoundScan figures are not used in RIAA certification; the RIAA system predates Nielsen SoundScan and includes sales outlets Nielsen misses.
How in the fuck does Bieber make the top 10?
