Sorry folks...Zippyshare is shutting down.

One thing I found really helpful about their links is that when you'd do a Google search for say ... "album name + Zippyshare" ... you'd find a random link for what you were after. The link would be several years old, but seemingly still active / not expired.

Other sites seemed to have stuff expire much more quickly.

Really enjoyed finding older album links on there.

Fast too.

Yeap, whenever i'm searching for an album that's exactly what i put in google and it had it 90% of the time.

Zippyshare and Mediafire were always fast as shit.:(

I'm currently replacing all music I can with 24/96 or at least FLAC. Zippy never could handle that size, so no loss to me.

As an aside, the last few generations have been so ear-fucked into listening to and accepting that 128 kbps garbage they probably don't care about Hi-Res.

A few times my pops would ask me for random obscure albums from the past, or something that I couldn't find on BGOL ... and he'd be surprised and ask me after the fact how I found stuff. I'd be like - "Just running a few keyword searches on Google."

When friends or family would ask me about new / popular TV or movies ... they'd ask which forum or message board I tracked stuff down at. Then I remembered the first rule of BGOL / Fight Club and be like - "Oh ... this popular place. I don't remember the name of it. I don't recall the website URL."

Smart man.

Never understood why they didn't have accounts.....It was one of the best for it's UPLOAD (as well as download) speeds
But that 30 day sh1t drove me crazy. Most sites now are pop up time bomb hell to use.

Zippy really was fast and I will miss them

They were very fast downloads and links tended to last online longer than most hosts.

RIP Zippyshare
