They can leave their house with their phones, they can do 1000 of things with their phone compared to the limited things with their vid games
Man, ain't nobody gone buy them shits. Hell, I didn't want to pay the $450 I paid for the PS5 last year. So, I am going to pay for the damn thing three times? I brought the thing because I never had one as a kid and I don't even use that shit. No parent, in there right mind gonna spend $2000 on a gotdamn video game when just the year before it cost less than $500 and everybody was complaining about that. Plus, kids out grow shit like that fast.
I wanted to buy a PS5 but never did.Damn, that reminds me, I still haven't opened my PS5 I bought new 2 years ago.
I lost motivation to play video games.

Yup, they better bring that price down to $600 or $800
Vz Tmobile ATT etc subsidize with deep discounts and cheap credit plans
and now Apple is even leasing... Sony is going to need finance and retail partners if they take PS6 +$1k
Believe it or not it’s been out for 6 yrs now.. 2020 release.. in a few months will be 2027.. that’s 7 yrs.. it’s been out a longtime by gaming standards
It seems to be that because they was talking about making another system calling it PS6 at the time with rumors but they were trying to figure out a price.
PS5 seems to be fine and the graphics looks good though.
I don't know what PS6 would bring and it's not like tv's have advanced past QLED and OLED!
1K is still too much for a video game console though.
I mean the graphics on PS5 is good and realistic.
What is PS6 gonna bring that's different from PS5?
Sony want to push it more cause they trying to end physical games and be all digital.. where they can have full control of the product they put out. Ps6 is more about the company than the consumer.. it’s why some people are saying ps5 might be their last Sony system if they push an all digital media platform
That would be a waste because I'm a physical game kinda guy. I don't like digital and never will but I understand that this generation loves digital because they're too lazy to buy physical copy.
Sony all about making their pockets fatter and rightfully so, since there are people who would buy it regardless.
I doubt it would be their last.
They were supposed to stop making anymore after PS5 and they lied with coming out with another one calling it PS6
When I said their last I was talking about the consumer.. some consumers are saying ps5 would be their last Sony purchase cause they not feeling the all digital format and them not being able to own a physical copy… it’s still a mostly digital purchase audience, but it’s a nice size demographic like 10-20 percent of Sony consumers that’s physical copy buyers only/mostly
Consumers are full of shit and never should be taken seriously at all. They will continue to buy no matter what.
Sony knows there's plenty of people who would buy their gaming console being digital which will sell out regardless because of their brand alone.
I mean just about almost everything has gone digital with basically a few left that you can buy something physical.
A lot of gamstops have closed down, Toys R Us no longer exist and people have to purchase things online compared to getting from their local store unless they go to the mall!
Nah some consumers is real.. remember there’s still 80-90 percent of consumers that’s will buy.. so if they sold 100 million ps5s than they’ll just sell 80-90 million ps6.. that’s still billions of dollars to be made.. as long as the majority of their consumers ain’t feeling the all digital is a problem
Yup, PC would be more worth it and reliable with longevity because those game console have that red light death that comes out of nowhere that you would have to get fixed which you don't have to worry about that using a PC!

Some doesn't speak for the rest who will buy. Small percentage of people not buying won't stop nothing.
Consumers always say one thing and do another thing.
I remember when consumers said they weren't gonna buy another with them having PS4 but later they ran out to buy PS5.
Sony don't care what these consumers think or how they feel because they will still make money regardless.

PS5 and Xbox sales entirly sold out because of the pandemic restrictions increasing demand
AND
minimum $2k per person with $600 per kid bonuses to working poor along with expanded unemployment stacking payouts where some got more in benefit check than they got from their old paycheck
AND
the PPP payroll subsidies (real and fraud)
I already told my homie that the PS5 will be my last console.
I'm not paying $100 for a full game.
I'm a physical game and ownership type of guy.
Why I gotta log in every 30 days just to keep my digital game. Mind you,I only have two on my system.
Every game wants to be a soulslike game when they don't need to be. This is coming from a guy that's been a Fromsoft fan for four years.
It seems like the game industry decided it wants to be monstrous greedy. I will not be shocked,if the greed causes a second video game crash.
Ok, I'm no longer a math wiz..... but how did he jump from "ram & ssd cost $680....no CPU, GPU or other components" to "the bill of materials is already at $1000, no GPU, CPU, cooling, motherboard, power supply, case and whatever other components Sony needs for the next generation console"?.....
Sooo ram and SSD and the controller(s) = $1000?!
What else is there to a console that wasn't mentioned?

But they've been teasing that injecting AI into games could lead to real time shading/graphics effects and potentially personalized in game moments/ events . Which sounds awesome, but at what expense outside of financial?
I am curious to see what route they take with the handheld..... do you try to out Switch Nintendo or do you go after the ROG/ Steamdeck market?
If Sony were smart, get the realworld figures, do the actual due diligence. See what the absolute barebones price for a "next gen" console that meets their metrics and standards. THEN, look at the overall economy. If tariffs, oil prices, fuel prices.....etc are still areas of concern for consumers, you can count out anything over $1200 that isn't groundbreaking. A massive misstep with a move like this could be the end of their console division.
Make a Switch like knock off, however now enhance the PS Network. You can play games off line, but with a subscription you can have access to all of the latest games ran through their cliud gaming network. So you won't need a $600 handheld, $400.... maybe even $350 might get it done

I mean you made a good point, I didn't even think about this fucked up economy along with the orange man in office and the pandemic which is still going on now that people don't have that kind of money laying around to buy 1k gaming console.

I never believed these gaming console to be recession proof nor hold value the longer you keep them.
Cost of living today is high as hell too.
TV's are more affordable today with plenty of options for these game console with better graphics.
But like someone said above that if the PS6 hardware is similar to the PS5 then it's a waste of money when you can use a PC for a fraction of the cost with better hardware that those overpriced gaming consoles.
I remember sony wanted to release this PS6 because of the new GTA which is supposed to come out and be more powerful to support the new game graphics.
I remembered the scamming going on fondly during the pandemic with some people getting away with it while others didn't and most of the people who got caught were black.
Yup, I hate A.I. but it's the future of gaming.
I think the expense is because of the graphics being expensive now to make these games which leads to the console being more expensive because of the hardware that goes into those game console to support those graphics which leads me to GTA but you can get that for a fraction of the cost and much more using a PC build to get those same hardware installed for less compared to what sony would be charging for those game console while not having to worry about "red light death" using a PC!
Most consumers wouldn't be able to afford that price tag sony gave out for a PS6 being digital when most consumers want to buy the physical game. Sony should give consumers options for digital or physical and not one for all!
