Ladies...

Do you still think Valentine's Day is a big deal?

And what are you expecting this year?

What do you WANT to get this year?

Do you get your husband/boyfriend/significant other something?

Wives and mother's - Do you you expect gifts from your husband, baby's father and children?

Do you get Valentine's gifts at your place of work?

As you get older to lose any enthusiasm for it?

Ladies...

Do you still think Valentine's Day is a big deal? Never have thought it to be a big deal

And what are you expecting this year?Nothing except a headache..Duty Day at our son's school

What do you WANT to get this year? Nothing

Do you get your husband/boyfriend/significant other something? Nope

Wives and mother's - Do you you expect gifts from your husband, baby's father and children? Nope

Do you get Valentine's gifts at your place of work? They better not they know I am not a fan of any of these materialistic holidays

As you get older to lose any enthusiasm for it? Never had the enthusiasm.

I don't do gifts because some day on a calendar dictates that I should. I make sure that the kids know this too. If I see something that will serve a purpose for any of my family I get it and I give no matter what time of the year it is.
Plus I DESPISE shopping. My husband am sure doesn't mind that one bit. lol less stress

OK I thought I was the only one.

I get ripped for this because since school I never liked this idea and feel like EVERYDAY should be a day to express your love.

I actually used to deliberately buy roses a week before or a week after...just to show how meaningless being TOLD to show love is.

But I can also understand a level of insecurity someone would feel if EVERYONE else gets candy and flowers and feeling left out.

I love Valentines Day. It is a wonderful day to do something unique to express your love!
I am not sure what I am doing this year, the gentleman I am currently dating is taking me on a mini vacation but wont tell me where but said to pack for 3 days.
I am making him a cookie bouquet and buying him a game (he is a gamer) and Blue De Chanel cologne.
As I get older it means more and more because I am learning what love is all together. So a day set outside to celebrate is simply just a day to do something extra.....But I am a sappy holiday person anyway:lol:

grown folk love

got me questioning my whole belief system up in here...

have fun...:D

I don't expect anything but I'd like to give something. What I'd like to give I might can't. I'm like Onyx, I like these sappy holidays. I'm not going to go broke, but it's cute to set aside a day when we can be sappy and look back on it. But, it's not that important.

I'm more invested in getting the girls valentines together for school than I am worried about what I might or might not do.

That's me. I'm all about showing my wife love during the year but even I'm not so contrary to take VDay off to make some statement.
I usually buy her gift in the middle of Christmas shopping and/or, like this year, something will pop up and I'll just get it and stash it until VDay.
I don't do flowers sent to her job or booking hotel rooms because that's mad cliché to me. Plus, having worked hotel audit for around 10 yrs, I know they jack the rates up for VDay.
The trick for those that think of doing that is to book for no closer than the week before or after. November to Febuary is a slow time in most markets so you can get a good rate for whatever you want, outside the actual holiday dates.

^^^
I would love to do that, the hotel room. But not on VDay. I had the idea to do it for another occasion cause I get discounts, but it doesn't LOOK like a discount...I just want a nice room with room service...and good water...Chick got simple needs.

One day when I'm ballin'.

i DO NOT look forward to that at all...:hmm:

Yo, I had the idea (cause I don't give candy) to go to the spot, aka Target, and get some clear bags, some pencils, and some other little thing, and make these gift bags. Girls get one type, boys the other. No need to write anyone's name, get a class list, just pass them suckas out.

So I go into Deals thinking I can find something for on the low, end up taking the girls with me (big mistake) I ended up having to buy two boxes of My Little Pony valentine cards. :hmm:

Sigh...death to these damn ponies.

Yes. Plural.

:hmm:

Greedy.
