My neice goes to a magnet school. The girl lives in the same gated community (new houses) that my sister lives in. She asked to come in to the house when they walked home from the bus. She ran upstairs, neice told her she can't have company when her mom isn't there. Little girl comes back downstairs and says, "okay" and leaves.
Neice goes upstairs in the bedroom later to find her Ipod gone.

No it's not true. Stop being reactive and be proactive. You should have setup a passcode lock and find my iphone on it. You could have used find my iPhone to track it.

I agree the mother has failed. The neighbors say the kids are outside all the time when her boyfriend is there. CPS was called on them too after this incident, there have been many concerns.

Funny part is, my sister doesn't live in the "hood". She lives on the west coast in a gated community development with all new houses. When the housing market crashed, many houses foreclosed in that area and investors bought some houses and allowed renters. This girl's family is renters and they brought the "hood" with them.
