Well LL's Beef goes back over 15 yrs at this point. Jay "stepping" on LL's budget and fucking with his album led to LL leaving Def Jam....

But more recently allegedly LL asked Jay to perform at the Rock the Bells 50 yrs of HipHop Show in/near NYC and Jay declined saying "(ppl) don't want to see me perform."
Hence the line "get on the stage." And the whole, if I can do it, you can do it shit....
