Almost none of them can sing. I mean they're literally unable to hold a note, that's why that current style of R&B exists. The industry has more control when the "talent" has no talent. Most of them are just imitating more successful singers from the 90s but can't do it with their voice, so they have to dress and dance like Aaliyah, etc... in the video. They would have no careers without videos. A handful of the ones shown sing well on other songs, but OP chose a bunch of generic slop that highlights everything wrong with mainstream R&B right now.

I agree. All of them are selling "the look," which is what artists do when they don't have the talent.

R&B is dead. The artist nowadays lack Talent and substance. All they can do is look sexy for the most part. I do like Ella Mai (Boo'd Up), but she isn't wowing anyone with her voice.

Most if not all of them likely have to be auto-tuned just to make them sound good because they can't hold a note.

But they look sexy. Although, I've heard that Diana Ross couldn't hold a note worth a goddamn either - like at all. It baffles me how she reached Legend status and she can't really sing all the great
