ONE HUNDRED FUCKIN' PERCENT!
I never met many Black people who joined the military out of some patriotic, rah-rah, my family fought bullshit.
I joined because my first child was on the way during a time that manufacturing was decimated in the Rust Belt and moving offshore. There was a time in Milwaukee that you could be an 8th-grade dropout and still make a living wage in a Foundry, Brewery, or a Plant.
We didn't fall for all of that programming and forget who we were and how our people have been treated after returning from [insert War here].
Fuck all that bullshit.
