Question: Could someone on the scene fire on that driver in the name of saving lives? Just wondering. Like if you're at the next pump, could you stop this madness by shooting the driver.....legally? I believe so but......

unless you are very well trained
And even then, as we see with cops,
You are more likely to hit everyone else around you
Than the driver
Not easy to hit a moving target with all that adrenaline pumping

best to just jump out the way and try and get people to safety

That's a good question. Is the City Attorney or Prosecutor Left or Right-leaning?
Would it be viewed as YOU taking the law into your own hands, or a citizen willing to intervene to save lives and preserve the safety of others?

If it's a Stand Your Ground state, you'd probably have to be directly threatened by the driver's actions, as in being in the path of the vehicle. I'm not sure about it though, but it's an excellent question.
