true, a lot of good points, but I still can't blame the kids. Because they are the least powerful agent in the k-12 public education system. It's a societal failure. Ever since the integration of public schools the education system has been undermined & gaslighted. the culmination of wrong-headed policy was No Child Left Behind. It's been a shit show since.
Can't blame the parents either. Worked in public school system for a decade (those were dog years so it felt much longer). But also put my kids in publicschool, all are now college graduates. Had to fight & advocate for them the whole way.
Don't get me wrong, students & parents play a role & have a responsibly. I just want to say to all parties involved at schools/education system at all levels (school, district, county, state, & Federal), "Do your fucking job!"
