That unexpected in a residential ar a were there usually are no gators. This area had no warning signs because it's not a normal occurrence. They are so stealthy that you never see them coming they just snatch prey out from still calm water with so much stealth.. So many village people in Africa get killed by Crocs when washing clothes in the river. These animals wander into residential areas from canals. Recently I saw a manatee in a canal in opa locka.

If there are submerged, you absolutely can't see them standing two feet from them in brackish water. Even with a spotter you might be fucked. Over short distances they can reach speeds of up to 22 mph, and that's on land. That burst from a lake or river propelled by their massive tail I would estimate that they could reach 30 mph over a 10-ft distance

I've seen the movie alligator more times than I can count. The kee-kee and snuggling is extra.
There are things I'm serious about, people getting eaten by animals is not one of those things. And movies and in real life I root for the animals
