Your anger is justifiable, yes the enslavers use religion as a tool & for justification of their actions but black folk took the good word and turned it into liberation theology. It gave Nat Turner dreams of sending mf.s straight to hell. It's paradoxical. They read the book and saw themselves as God's chosen people destined for freedom. We used religion as a tool of liberation. It's nuanced & complicated but that is the history. don't want no argument. I'm not a christian, but i respect people's belief system, especially if they live up to the best of it.

i said that slavery was justified (to the slave owners) by their religion, thus I was drawing on the irony of the previous statement.
