Art is a commodity so declaring its worth is only one part. Rarity, the artist's method and the artist's standing in historic methods of production. The artist's oeuvre is also a big factor in the price.
Damn bro. You know a lot about art? I've been trying to find the name of a what I assumed to be a Vietnamese painter named Chien.

I bought them at a garage sale of a man whose father served in Vietnam more than 50 years ago. I've got five paintings all signed Chien but no one can tell me more about them

Who would I call to find more information on these? BGOL is the shit

At a garage sale last year I came across a guy down the street from me selling paintings that were in his dad's basement after his dad died.

His dad in Vietnam, so these paintings, all by the same artist, Chien, are a minimum of 50 years old. I bought them for $9 a piece.

I've tried, but haven't found anyone who knows about the artist, so any help anyone can offer would help. Any Vietnam Art History majors on here?
