My aunt had a similar situation at her place in East Van some 10 years ago or so. She moved back to her old place that she'd been renting out since the early-90s, and had to pay thousands to get it removed from the southwest side of her backyard. Didn't have the contamination issues as alleged in the article though. Just a hassle.
