from what i have read, it hasn't really evolved yet. The chair told Batman there were several Jokers. He is looking into it, but Robin recently died. I;m not fully caught up on this Rebirth stuff, so i may have missed something.

The Story is still in progress but it seems Doctor Manhatten rewrote reality and he and a Mysterious figure who calls him self OZ (most likely Ozymandias) are manipulating timelines and peoples memories in the background. BAtman and Flash suspects someone is pulling the strings but they don't know who it is yet. The Golden age supermand and the new 52 Superman have merged into one person but he is still mostly the old school superman we grew up with.

If you want to catch up, read the Flash Rebirth, Wally West, and BAtman rebirth comics. This new storyline is pretty good, my only concern is how they are rewriting everyone's origins
