So this dude makes $1.2M - $14.3M /yr from Youtube

The highest paid Youtubers don't even have 100K subscribers. Youtube Partner ads are the same ads displayed on the larger Google Display Network. What you get paid as an advertiser depends on how much the publishers pay for each ads.

What would you rather have?

1 million clicks on $.10 and $.20 ads
or
A few thousand clicks on ads that pay from $20 to $50 a click

=====

There are people who are paying higher than $100 per click on Adwords. These people have teams that can design a revenue funnel out of this world that just sucks up money that justifies such a high CPC.

Looking at some of these vids posted, these mofos are straight corny and goofy.

couldn't even watch the whole thing.

You dumb ass niggas don't know how to make no god damm muny off of youtube! :D
Too may of you niggas is informants and professional schnitches. :smh:

So I was looking at Alphacat's #'s and wondering why he is mostly doing vine clips now.

Now I know....Congrats to the brotha.

Vine Videos getting content creators paid $1,666 per second ?

Whoever thought Vine’s video app was going to die after instagram added a similar feature was incredibly wrong. According to AdAge, the entertainment company was just heating up! In fact, the 6-seconds clip service may gain traction on YouTube in 2013 if things continue to grow vertically. The smartphone service is now paying be well-known YouTubers and Viners to create content!

How much are professional Vine video makers generating?

According to AdAge.com, creators of the app service’s GrapeStory agency generate $1,000 to $10,000 per vine video! A whopping amount for a 6 second clip, that averages a payout of $1,666 per second of film. Without real post production effects, it’s more profitable than YouTube’s partnership program and less reliant on marketing. YouTube partners DeStorm, AlphaCat, and KingBach are rumored to have signed deals with the company, which could be early signs of an oncoming migration by more familiar viral video brands.

Already popular Vine creators like Mr. Jarre, Meagan Cignoli, and Warner Bra are signed to the Grapestory agency. Meagan alone has worked with 14 marketers and gotten checks from companies like Nike, BMW and GE. With 337,000 followers she does not have the largest reach of the group. Jerome Jarre, the ‘King of Fine,’ has 1.8 million followers and is a partner with “GrappeStory.”

The total a Vine creator get paid is based on the follower count and user engagement. Either way, at the rate of pay 6 seconds of video film, these mobile app sensations are getting paid more than many professional athletes at their per second rate (not overall).

What videos get the attention on Vine?

“The unexpected ones featuring a normal situation,” says 19-year-old video clips creator, Brandon Calvillo. He adds what does not work, “Gross-out humor, swearing and fake drug use.”

A good ‘flick’ according to the short-film entertainer, has a cool home-video feel.

Can you explain this please?

Each ad served on a video pays different...if he is having 1 million plus view impressions I am sure at the least 20k are clicking the ads...it could be $2 per click or can be $10 per click...,only he would know what his CPC is because it is against TOS with Google to disclose that figure... All I know is he is clocking money with that much traffic no matter how much his CPC is that day,

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

That's a 2% minimum click through rate. Not bad if you can generate that amount of traffic. I never have been a big Adsense fan but with the right niche and enough traffic there's some serious bank there.

I been working on the blueprint for multiple niches the last year.

This post just confirms the window is open, but closing.

Great drop, OP.

The window is closing. I don't quite get that either. Why or how is it closing?

Anyway this YouTube money is the truth. It kinda seems better than Adsense to me or at least just as good.

This is a REALLY hot topic right now, and one that I get into it with guys at my job on the daily. Def curious about what the board thinks.

1. Somebody above mentioned that the content is mad corny. That's definitely true. I definitely don't have the patience to watch much of the most popular stuff. A lot of it appeals to the 16 and under demographic, which seems to be the dominant Youtube viewer. I also don't think it's a coincidence that you don't see many colored folk (black, latino, Indian, or even asian) making tons of money on these types of 'let's play' videos. What kinds of content can generate large numbers, and still feel culturally 'cool'?

2. The only content that I personally bring to the table is 'produced' content. Scripted and edited type stuff. Black content of this type seems to cap at about 35k per vid. Unless it's something crazy comedy-oriented, and that's not consistent. White comedy seems to hit a totally different demographic.

3. Are folks really even interested in WATCHING this stuff? 3-5 minutes seems to be the old cap. What kind of content do you even want to see (or create) that would last, consistently, for 10+ minutes?? That Game Theory video really broke things down.

No data and analysis but it looks like this all depends on the niche. Some niches convert more and pay more than others because of the demographics.

It's like cable tv or magazine subscriptions. Very segmented according to the niche. Marketing promotion and keyword optimization of course still play a role. Lots of those channels are star driven or personality driven.

Content has to be engaging to a particular audience on a repeatable basis. Lotta factors seem to be involved to compete with heavy hitters.

yep...white teens into odd random shit...it's almost unpredictable who/what they'll latch onto w/ youtube vids

How Much Do YouTubers Make? The Top 25 Earning Creators’ Adsense Salaries Revealed
Posted by Carly Lanning on Thursday, May 16, 2013 ·

In recent years, hundreds of YouTubers have earned fame and fortune — million dollar fortunes — solely through their work on their YouTube channels. For those on the outside, it seems so simple: create and upload YouTube videos ranting about life or of pranks being pulled on innocent bystanders, have people tune in to watch the videos, and bam, next thing you know you’re buying a house next to Reese Witherspoon in Beverly Hills.

But in reality, becoming one of the top creators on YouTube takes consistency, a nonstop work schedule and a growing audience that have chosen to spend their valuable time watching your videos instead of the millions of others found on YouTube. But the rise to million-dollar salaries has taken all of these creators years to generate through their video-making hard work.

From data exclusively supplied by YouTube analytics platform Social Blade, the infographic depicts the average low and high salaries of the top 25 earning creators solely based on the Adsense of their YouTube channels, or cost per thousand impressions (CPM). Each creator earning was calculated by taking the number of video views on the channel between January 1, 2012 to December 20, 2012 and multiplying it by the average low CPM of 70 cents and average high CPM of $7 to find the estimated total low earnings and total high earnings. The estimated earnings numbers do not include additional revenue earned from the creators’ outside brand deals, sponsorships, affiliate campaigns or any other income-earning ventures. The infographic also includes the estimated Adsense revenue of the top three YouTube networks/studios, the top three Vevo channels and the no. 1 earning YouTube channel overall.

Anyone else feel like they got into the wrong profession? Yeah, me too.

I had seen this before. I just don't trust the numbers man...
I haven't heard anywhere that people are approaching a billion dollars from youtube fam...

The trick with YouTube is to create content that you are truly interested in. If you are into motorcycles create a channel about that and naturally you will gain subscribers if you know what you are talking about. The ads being served will match your topic thus the people subscribed to you will most likely click the ads bringing you revenue. Creating a channel just to monetize it will be an uphill battle and most likely you will not make anything for awhile. There are millions of topics (niches) that you can make a channel about and as I said above created one with your personal interest is always the best way to go. You can couple that will a blog of the same topic and start participating in message board discussions about said topic..,,your traffic will be targeted & organic, in my opinion that is the best traffic you can have.

Makes sense.

As far as the OP initial youtube post, I thought he was funny. But I'm a PCgamer and self proclaimed geek. :D

Yeah there are alot of untapped markets out there. My partner started a simple website on how to beat candy crush levels. He expanded it to twitter, facebook, myspace and made youtube videos for the hard levels. Now he has made enough to pay off his mortgage he got 10 yrs ago. But get this, his biggest money maker is pushing offers toward the just retired crowd. 55 and up who can sit around and play all day.

I love to hear shit like this. I keep telling these 9-5 cats that the internet can make you rich if you just apply yourself. Tip: for some quick money niggas can throw up a twerk website(its a high search term right now) put up some AdSense ads and I promise you if you have some decent content you can make an easy extra couple hundred until this shit dies down,

Anybody know the best tools to make a decent video? I'll need something heavier than Windows Movie Maker to get started.

14+ years on the net and I just been a consumer...good shit...I just need to find a way to supplement my income....I don't even need to be rich

We as BGOL? LEt's be realistic here....unless OCKing can make money on YT, cats don't get along here, like people are gonna trust people on here with their govt names etc.

BGOL community has a lot of infos but cats can't team up for nothing.

bucket-of-crabs.jpg

A new community with BGOL contents without the crab mentality could be the best thing ever.

On this I agree...same in real life...
