so the casting was correct after all Samuel jackson

I didnt have a problem with the casting or Sam Jacksons comments... But to say they were motivated by him wanting job security is fucking laughable... Hes a certified A list iconic actor with a resume longer than traintracks and a bank account to match. Also, those examples you provided all fail as a valid comparison. When you find one made by a citizen of a foreign country, about that countries history, premiering and promoted in that country, and starring an American then lets talk.

Do tell.
So you mean to suggest that SLJ doesn't need to make money because he's set for life...?
Dude, Hollywood is REPLEAT with multiple examples of actors/actresses who were hot and making money one minute and then ice cold, poor and jobless shortly thereafter. IT HAPPENS...
SLJ is without a doubt one of the BEST, HIGHEST PAID, & TALENTED actors in the business today, but all it takes is for him to have a repeated short string of bad films under his belt and believe me, the phone calls DO slow down and the money does dry up.
Do not fool yourself and fall into the mindtrap that everything will always be perfectly rosy for SLJ just because of his current status as an "A List" celebrity. Even he would tell you that....

Also; this is the same SLJ who, a few years ago made the exact same complaint about untrained rappers trying their hand at acting. Remember that...?
Clearly, that has NEVER worked out, has it...?

the movie costs 4.5 to make. you telling me that sam jackson and all the other rich black hollywood stars, couldnt make their own shit?

I've been saying this for years. Seems our entertainers still don't get it, Tyler Perry can't be the only one.

Im saying his motivations were not personal employment. I think anyone believing so is stupid. You think SJ losing out gigs to fucking black brits? Did you even read his entire statement or listen to the interview?

Show me ONE with his resume and box office take. ONE.

Now this is a good point.. But it wasnt a "few years ago". Closer to 20 my man..And at that time i may have entertained a thought of self preservation in his undertones... But even then his point was about a respect for the art form and those who devote their lives to it.. But regardless, he has since walked that back, but i thought he had a valid point there as well. Not that i agreed of disagreed, just that his point had merit.

It has to be promoted right and it has to be accessible period the movie sleight was pretty good. I enjoyed it but it wasn't available in my city or anywhere within 30 minutes. It was available 45 minutes away at a theater near my job. My friend wanted to see it but he wasn't willing to drive that far

There's got to be something we can do to build black Cinema. Whether it be having Stars from the movie come to the movie theater to sign autographs.

We've got the talent, we've got the writers, we've got the actors. Everything doesn't have to be Hood movie because all black people ain't Hood period however, there is a large disconnect or resentment between Hood black people and Suburban black folks because they think we're booshie and they think that we think that we're better.

If we can get past this shit we can take the fuck over. The hard thing is getting past bullshit

You know this has been talked about often we don't see opportunity when its right in front of our eyes. As far as the bullshit is concerned once they check their egos, they'll be in a position to create something that will last a millennium.

Maybe it can happen with some of the new blood that's coming up.
