I'm about 8 minutes in and Russell Simmons is talking to Slick Rick while he's still in Riker's. Check the convo and the artist that it flashes to in the middle of the convo. Remember, this footage is from 1994.

Go to the 8 minute mark...

That shit is scary. :smh:

Thats about right though. No telling how many up and coming Biggies and 2Pac's have been killed already. Always here about a young brother who raps getting killed.

I got it off a torrent but i'm sure it's posted on here if you do a search. The whole shit is on youtube though. I haven't watched this shit since back in these days. This shit is like a time capsule for everything I love about hip hop.

Anyone have the link to the soundtrack?

*Props to the OP (ak_rep). Lenny, you are damn lucky. The soundtrack is a one Linker (MegaUpload) but the documentary is not! Anyone with the whole documentary one Linker (MegaUpload) please holla*.

I'm getting the same feeling from this, that I did from The Show. It gives you insight into what the generation before the Hip Hop generation was on. You'll be surprised at the similarities.

Wattstax is a compelling film. I love Wattstax. What's so dope about it is that almost 40 years later, the dialogue is still the same!

The only difference is that back then, we were more proud to be black than we are now. If you ever find the DVD, listen to the Chuck D commentary voice over feature.
