Just started this.. solid so far
I gotta get back to watching it, I've been slacking.
I've got the final 2 episodes to watch.
Enjoyed it on the whole, and it was an added bonus recognizing a number of the local shooting locations in and around Burnaby, Vancouver, and Maple Ridge, B.C. ...
A few of the spots I drive by regularly, and I'm pretty sure they filmed in my old childhood neighborhood. The angles of the view from some of the alleys were very familiar, and I kept looking for street signs, lol.
If you're looking for some of the Google Maps or Google Images aerial views of some of these places (out of interest) ... look for the following ...
- Hastings and Gamma
- Hastings and Howard
- New Brighton Park
- Capitol Hill, Burnaby
- North Burnaby, B.C.
- Astoria Pub, or Astoria Hotel, Vancouver
- Canada Way and Imperial

My wife was like "what city is this supposed to be? it looks familiar"
I was thinking it was the pacific northwest like Tacoma or some shit...now knowing it was filmed in Vancouver makes so much sense, only been out there a couple times but i recognize some spots.
Am I the only one annoyed by the facial expressions on the wife's face? I can't tell if the bitch is being supportive, bemused or mocking him whenever hes talking to her about his book.
It’s really interesting watching the show as it’s the most amount of locally recognizable areas I’ve ever seen in a tv or movie. I am constantly scanning to see if I recognize the backgrounds or street signs, haha.
Side note - it was cool to see the B.C. wilderness used in the Netflix series, Untamed. That show was really popular this summer.

The scenes around midseason filmed at the empty amusement park are the grounds of Playland / PNE.
It’s a few minutes on foot from New Brighton Park wherein Jurnee’s character was running in the pilot episode.
I lived about 15 mins on foot from the PNE in the 2000s.
For Google Images of the PNE, look for the area just past Hastings and Renfrew.
Hastings is a main thoroughfare that I drive daily.
