Talk to me a decade and a few years later and lets see if jeezy is even mentioned. Nas is still relevant a decade and a half later Jeezy is a new artist has he made any classic music any classic hip hop. Nas to this day has verses and songs 10 years old that can't be fucked with by any rapper from the south.
And I fuck with Jeezy I listened to the first album it was aight but lets not start using record sales to draw a comparison between a Legend and a novice it's just disrespectful.

Co-sign.

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't yet truly understand this statement.

Nothing else even needs to be said.

Try to tell Nas (or any major artist) that record sales don't mean anything. They care quite a bit (and it does matter how many people are interested enough in you to buy your album).

The question was simply about quantity and not quality. All the defensive "save-a-Nas" folks jumped the gun.

Man fuck you for mentioning Jeezy in the same sentence as this legend... Jeezys music is whats wrong with hip-hop...

Fuck it I said it!!!

Whoever has the most record sales does not mean
they are the better artist does it? NAs is a legend homeboy!
Jezzy only rhyme about drugs, money and cars same

2. Ludacris
3. Big Boi
4. CeeLo when he wants to spit

lines have been used to death, by krs one and many others.. and used in a proper sentence at that. tell jeezy to shake his box of one liners and ad libs a little harder, the same ones used before keep coming up..

Yeah Homey CeeLo can spit when he wants to. T.I really barely makes the top 5 because them cats in Field Mob kinda tight. On any given day T.I. "the self-proclaimed King" can drop back to 7 or 8th.

damn son. what bout luda...
did you hear his last album

ok in defense of the south it seems like dudes are just putting out albums to put shit out. to keep their names in curculation.
i just dont get it.
that goes for all rappers not just the south

What's funny is that Nas fans don't even buy his own music. Dudes don't even realize that when he says Hip Hop Is Dead he's talkin' about his own dumb ass fans. Dudes stay on that "Hip Hop Is Dead" tip and will turn around and talk about how hip hop is a ministrel show now but they're the first ones downloading a Nas record or a Little Brother record. Ya'll are slowly killing this shit just because you don't want to pay 10 dollars for a critically acclaimed album. Oh well. I don't like Nas shit no way but I respect his music. Start supportin' the good shit and maybe Hip Hop sales can revive. But it won't change. Everyday people get computers and everyday album sales detoriate. It use to be just about fighting the bootleggers. Now its bigger than that. You fighting millions of people now.

Man...Damn Blunt been on point with alot of shit lately. Nobody said shit about Jeezy makes better music. Whats funny tho is this . All you dudes in here talking about sales dont mean shit,(Which the threadstarter didnt imply that it did any) but when Nas outsold Jeezys first week yall made a thread about it co-signing...For the record Nas is at 800k shipped right now.

Don't let Gnarles Barkley fool you. Cee-lo the rapper is a top 5 rapper out of the South. As far as GA goes, I only got Andre 3000 nicer than him. That dude can spit I don't know if you just heard about him because of "Crazy" or what.

A lot of what being putout now is not Hip-Hop. It's Hip-Pop. Nas trying to take it back to the real, but not many buyers want to hear that.

Plus Nas aint doing bad for cats talking about he isnt selling. Nas always creeps to platinum.

So is that why he's sold almost 700,000 in 2 months and is likely on his way to his 8th platinum album? Come on now alot of yall not making sense. Nas is a seller. Whether you like it or not Nas IS a pop artist. And he's on his way to his average, Jeezy just happened to get there first.
