two things, but not both.
I hope that is exactly what she is doing, especially after the coach threw her under the bus.
She can take a couple of days to rest and recharge then dominate in the individual competition and ride off into the sunset.

This whole Olympics is snake-bit and I think a lot of the athletes just don't want to be there between COVID, the ban on "protesting", being far away, no fans, etc. I think that's a reason for the men's basketball team looking weak as well.

Why? If you look at the BS they've tried to do with judging & not scoring her shit correctly, why should she be penalized for being better than everyone else (the majority of whom are white). That crap would be enough to mess with folks, then you add in her being looked to to basically carry the US team. She's still accomplished more than any other gymnast in history.

Pressure and stress is a mofo but you play thru it...consider this...simone was able to compete at a high level even though she was getting molested by a creepy doctor... but she folds here??
Even at half speed she's not better than most..shes better than ALLof them.. and she's not the only one off her game on that team...you win as a team you lose as a team.
Again this goes back to her coaches not being able to rally the troops.
At this point no one except Biles and maybe her coaches & family know what really lead to this decision. But like I said earlier to go out & perform at the highest level and get bullshit scores would fuck with anyone mentally, then you add in the pressure of carrying a team.
