Shout-out to the Boston Celtics official Thread

Surprised you posted all that shit after that big ass L you caught on National TV just now. Jagged the game at the end too with two very juvenile plays, Ray chuckin' up that 3 with a full clock left and Rondo throwin' KG a 15 foot high oop. too bad. Don't forget to add "DALLAS (0-2)" to your sig lol good game though.

Dallas won...Celts kinda gave it to them,in a very un-Celtic like final couple of minutes.

As for Dallas...they are no longer relevant,as their chances of making the finals are slim...make that zero, and zero.

What matters is how the Celts play against the Heat, the Magic, the Lakers and Spurs.

One of those teams will win the title...probably the one in green.

Rondo scores 26 as Celtics beat Magic 91-80

BOSTON (AP)—Rajon Rondo(notes) scored 11 of his 26 points in the third quarter when the Boston Celtics capitalized on Orlando’s cold shooting to take charge and go on to a 91-80 win over the Magic on Sunday.

Boston led 46-43 at halftime and stretched that to 70-55 with 3:36 left in the third quarter. At that point, the Celtics had made 9 of their 10 shots in the period while the Magic had hit just 4 of 18.

Orlando scored the last six points of the third quarter, cutting the lead to 70-61, but the Celtics came right back with a 7-2 run to go ahead 77-63. They led by at least eight the rest of the way.

Paul Pierce(notes) added 18 points and Kevin Garnett(notes) had 16 for the Celtics, who improved to 23-4 at home. Dwight Howard(notes) had 28 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic, who lost for the fifth time in eight games.

Keeping up with Shaq

Nikki ‘Hoopz’ Alexander is a goofy charmer, which may explain her reality show successes and her bond with the Big Shamrock

300h.jpg

Shaquille O’Neal and Nikki “Hoopz’’ Alexander share a lighthearted and playful relationship.

SUDBURY — Shaquille O’Neal stood in his kitchen on a recent chilly afternoon debating finances with his girlfriend, Nikki “Hoopz’’ Alexander. They argued about whether certain bills had been paid. Or at least, they tried to argue. They teased each other with wide grins. Within seconds of the debate, they were giggling. It’s difficult for either of them to stay serious when they’re anywhere near each other.

“I knew he was a goofball,’’ Alexander, 28, said of her boyfriend O’Neal, 38, who famously joined the Boston Celtics over the summer. “We’re the same. We’re both goofballs.’’

Alexander is 5 feet 2 inches, making her about two feet shorter than her low-talking, tattooed boyfriend, the oldest active player in the NBA. But despite her small stature, her presence is powerful. She’s feisty and quick with punch lines. Her voice commands attention. She’s a country girl with no filter. She’ll charm you in a heartbeat, which may explain how she won two reality shows, VH1’s “Flavor of Love’’ and “I Love Money,’’ not to mention Shaq’s heart.

Daniels suffered bruised spine
http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4680427/daniels-suffered-bruised-spine
bos_g_mdaniels_576.jpg

BOSTON -- Boston Celtics reserve swingman Marquis Daniels suffered a bruised spinal cord as a result of a second-quarter collision during Sunday's win over the Orlando Magic at the TD Garden.

Daniels fell face-first to the parquet after the initial injury. After being attended to by team doctors and arena paramedics, Daniels needed to be taken from the court on a stretcher in a scary scene that marred a nationally televised battle of rivals.

“Marquis is doing well,” Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said at a joint news conference with team physician Dr. Brian McKeon. “I was just with him at New England Baptist Hospital. He’s moving; He’s fine. His arms and his legs, everything is fine.”

Ainge indicated that Daniels will be sidelined at least one month, possibly longer. While he has regained motor functions, the team plans to run a battery of tests, including CT scans, MRIs, and serial examinations, in order to determine the severity of the injury.

Both Ainge and McKeon noted that Daniels has experienced spine issues in the past and he endured a similar scare last year in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals in Orlando. He was diagnosed with a concussion after that game, but did not suffer one Sunday.

Ainge visited Daniels at the hospital during Sunday’s game.

“He just wanted to know the score of the game,” said Ainge. “He had talked with his wife and his mother. He was fine.”

^^^good to hear he is doing well. That was a scary sight man. Some dudes are just prone to injury.

Yeah!!! he has had 3 concussions in the past two years. So I think that this hit to the head on the drive, was just a part of the brain injury he already had!!!

interesting game by Rondo. I like how when he seen his team was not scoring well he stepped it up to become a scorer. When Rondo scores well it increases his confidence in his total game play. He becomes quicker and more controlling of game flow.

If Rondo play like this then the C's are impossible to beat.

On the other hand the C's are hurting on the bench. Let's hope the starters stay healthy. The bench players are taking SERIOUS injuries.:smh:

The C's needs at least one O'Neal and either West or Danials for a nice run.

2)shaq can play, but the celtics(and he) wants to play in the lakers game on thursday(National TV ESPN), so they will save him and not play him against teams like the Bobcats tomorrow.

3)celtics are working on a deal to get rip hamilton of the pistons before the trading deadline to cover the backup 2 and 3 spot.

Dude has so many triple doubles it's crazy!!!!

All-Stars Pierce, Allen, Durant in 3-point contest

NEW YORK (AP)—Paul Pierce will defend his 3-point shootout title against a field that includes fellow Boston Celtics All-Star Ray Allen(notes) and NBA scoring leader Kevin Durant(notes) of Oklahoma City.

Allen is on the verge of becoming the career leader in 3-pointers made. He won the title 10 years ago while playing for Milwaukee. Pierce was the champion last year in Dallas, scoring 20 points in the final round to beat Stephen Curry(notes).

The remainder of the field announced Tuesday is Miami’s James Jones(notes), Golden State’s Dorell Wright(notes) and Cleveland’s Daniel Gibson(notes).

The 3-point contest will be part of All-Star events on Feb. 19 in Los Angeles

Miller passed on shot to join Celtics

BOSTON – Reggie Miller had come to his old friend’s neighborhood gym in the Malibu Hills, searching for a voice to trust, an honest assessment on this most tantalizing proposition. The Boston Celtics had asked Miller to come out of a two-year retirement in the summer of 2007 and chase a championship with Kevin Garnett(notes), Paul Pierce(notes) and Ray Allen(notes). The shots dropped out of the sky at the Calabasas Community Center, out of all those years past, and it barely mattered that Miller was the ungodly age of 42.

“My suggestion to him was, ‘Go for it,’ ” his old Pacers point guard, Mark Jackson, says now. “He had it in his tank to play again.”............

After all those years in Milwaukee and Seattle, Boston has represented so much for Allen’s career. Here, he won a title. He made himself an undeniable Hall of Famer. He’ll be remembered as a Celtic, and no one would’ve thought that when the Big Three was thrown together in 2007. Who knows how Miller would’ve impacted those Celtics in that season, how the chemistry would’ve been affected. Miller stayed away, kept pure his Pacers legacy, and now he comes to the Garden to watch Allen pass his record.

“I know he could’ve helped,” Jackson says of Miller. “And I don’t think he would’ve been stealing a ring. He would’ve contributed.”

Whatever the case, Reggie Miller will still have to stop, take a peek to the rafters and see that 17th championship banner dangling and privately ask himself: What if?:idea::idea:

Pierce booed at hometown festivities by hating ass L.A. fans!!!

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Paul Pierce(notes) is glad to be back home for the All-Star game, even though the Boston Celtics star is hearing some boos.

“To come back here for a second time and play in an All-Star game really means a lot—just to save money on plane tickets and hotels for my mom and my aunts,” he said, laughing.

Pierce is from nearby Inglewood, where he used to sneak into the Forum growing up to see the Lakers play.

The boos Pierce has heard are reminiscent of Kobe Bryant(notes) getting booed when the All-Star game was played in Philadelphia, where he was a high school star.

“When you play for L.A.’s biggest rival, it’s tough getting booed by the fans. But I’m sure if Kobe Bryant was from Boston, he’d get booed, too, if he went back there,” Pierce said.

“It’s something you get thrown into once you become a Celtic or a Laker. It’s automatic, regardless of how you used to feel about the Lakers or Boston. Once you put on one of the uniforms from either side, you automatically inherit the rivalry.”

Happy birthday Rondo....

OAKLAND, Calif. --

Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo each came close to a triple-double, and the Boston Celtics picked up right where they left off before the break with an easy 115-93 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

"You lose the first game, you kind of lose your momentum and then you're battling uphill," said Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who added 23 points. "So it's kind of good to get that first one and keep that momentum."

No problem there.

Garnett had 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, and Rondo had 19 points, 15 assists and six rebounds to help the Celtics hold off Miami for now and stay atop the Eastern Conference standings.

celtics win again!!!!

Allen scores 25 to lead Celtics over Jazz 107-102
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2011022826
2-28-2011

SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—Ray Allen(notes) scored 25 points and Paul Pierce(notes) added 21, including a late 3-pointer and pair of free throws, to help the Boston Celtics hold on for a 107-102 victory Monday night over the Utah Jazz.

The loss spoiled the home debut of new Jazz players Devin Harris(notes) and Derrick Favors(notes), who were acquired last week in the trade that sent for All-Star Deron Williams(notes) to New Jersey.

Al Jefferson(notes) had 28 points and a season-high 19 rebounds for Utah, which has dropped six straight at home—the team’s worst home skid since 1982.

Allen hit a 23-footer for a 103-99 Celtics lead with 42.3 seconds left. Jefferson had a chance to cut it to one point but couldn’t convert a three-point play.

Rajon Rondo(notes) then hit a 15-foot jumper to seal the win for Boston.

Harris finished with 19 points for the Jazz, who have lost 16 of 21, and Favors added nine points, four rebounds and a block in 15 minutes.

The win gave the Celtics a series sweep after they routed the Jazz 110-86 on Jan. 21, shooting 55.2 percent in the process. In that game, Williams had only five points for Utah.

The fans welcomed Harris with open arms, chasing after him on Sunday as he visited a local outdoor mall, and giving him the loudest ovation of any Jazz player during pre-game introductions Monday.

The home crowd also got their first close look at rookie Favors.

“Hey, D-Will, thanks for the Favors,” read one sign in the arena.

Though the Jazz would erase a 13-point first-half deficit, they couldn’t hold off the Celtics down the stretch.

The Jazz, who are 1-2 since the Williams trade, jumped out to a 10-2 lead on 4-of-5 shooting. But the Celtics answered with a 12-0 run to take 14-10 lead and followed with a 13-0 run and led 30-21 after the first quarter.

Allen started the Celtics on their roll by hitting 3 of 3 from beyond the arc in the first quarter, while the Jazz shot just 36.8 percent as a team.

The Jazz fought back. Down 42-31 after Pierce’s 3-pointer, Utah outscored the Celtics 15-4, capped by Harris’ fastbreak layup to tie the score at 46 with 3:19 left in the half.

Andrei Kirilenko’s(notes) spinning layup started Utah’s second-quarter run, and Paul Millsap(notes) added a pair of short jumpers. But it was defense that helped Utah get back in the game in the second quarter. The Jazz forced the Celtics into a pair of three-second violations, and held Boston to 38.8 percent shooting.

Jefferson had a double-double by halftime (18 points, 10 rebounds). He entered the game averaging 23.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and shooting 55 percent in February.

I see that Kristic can score better than Perk. Plus he get waaaaaaaaaaaay more offensive rebounds. This is the only thing the C's lack I think. Murphy is a good pick up. Doc and Danny have a particular style of offense that requires shooting at all 5 positions.

I still think PJ and Posey was the reason they got over the hump to win a championship in '08. Now they can go back to that type of style.
