Shout-out to the Boston Celtics official Thread

I will type in red to show my solidarity for the Bulls.

Then it gets better. He denied knowledge of the thread's existence even though three other well known Celtic fans had a reply within the first 25 responses. This beeiii character is something else:lol:. He cool though, amusing type of fellow.

I feel the same way!!!
I think we can win all of the games(4-0),but we all know how the celtics play during back to backs:smh:

the only tough game is the lakers.

blazers are missing most of their players to injury, and the kings suck(celtics already blew them out).

the suns are the tail end of the back to back, so I am concerned about that one.

While the lakers at home are always tough!!! but we have to win that one for shaq:thumbsup::thumbsup:

so I say 3-1

Shout-out to the Boston Celtic and to you brothers!!!!

Kevin Garnett's 'Beat L.A.' shoe

ept_sports_nba_experts-655655474-1296181304.jpg

It's usually below Kevin Garnett(notes) to taunt an opponent.
Actually, no it's not. KG is known for rubbing it in the face of all manner of opponents. Postgame, sure, he'll be the first guy to offer you a handshake, win or lose, but during the game? All bets are off. Especially if you happen to be a 6-2 point guard who wasn't born in the continental United States.
So when word leaked out that KG was planning to wear a stylized ANTA-brand shoe that threw Boston's all-time record (152-120, as pictured above) against the Los Angeles Lakers, in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers? Well, it's pretty typical.
And it's pretty cool. Kudos to KG for putting himself out there, like that, especially as Sunday's hyped-up contest against the defending champs is in Los Angeles. If the 2004 MVP has a less than stellar time out, he's going to be on the hook.

Boston (35-10) at Phoenix (20-24) today!!! 10:30pm espn

Rajon Rondo(notes) and Steve Nash(notes) are the top two assist leaders in the NBA. It’s only Rondo and the Boston Celtics, though, who are among the top teams in the league.

Nash and the Phoenix Suns aren’t close.

Rondo looks to help the Celtics win consecutive road games for the first time in over a month when they face the struggling Suns in the continuation of this West Coast trip Friday night.

Rondo leads the league with 12.7 assists per game, while Nash is second with 11.0 after finishing atop the NBA with the same average last season.

Nash, though, also leads the Suns (20-24) with a qualifying average of 17.3 points compared to Rondo’s 10.6. However, Rondo’s contributions are a big reason why the Celtics (35-10) lead the Eastern Conference by four games over Chicago and Miami.

Phoenix is 11th in the West, 3 1/2 games back of Portland for the final playoff position.

While the Suns are hoping to mount a run at a second consecutive postseason berth, Boston is trying to widen its gap atop the East by showing some improvement on the road.

The Celtics have dropped four of seven as the visitor since a six-game winning streak Nov. 22-Dec. 15. They’re trying to regain that success away from home after opening this four-game trip with an 88-78 victory over Portland on Thursday, holding the Trail Blazers to 36.7 percent from the floor.

Rondo is also trying to show some improvement on the road after he had 11 points and five assists Thursday. Over the last four meetings with Phoenix, he’s averaging 20.5 points and 9.0 assists.

The Celtics dropped both meetings to the Suns last season, losing 116-98 at Phoenix on Dec. 30, 2009, while Paul Pierce(notes) was sidelined with a knee injury.

Pierce, Boston’s leader with 19.0 points per game, is averaging 25.3 over his last 10 games at US Airways Center, but it’s unclear if he’ll play Friday. The swingman claims he’s been bothered by a sore ankle hurt during Tuesday’s win over Cleveland, and said he suffered a sore knee against the Blazers.

“We’ll check it out and see how it feels,” he said. “Hopefully by then it won’t be too bad.”

The Suns are trying to avoid matching their season-high four-game slide from last month. They lost their third in a row Wednesday, failing to score in the final 3:02 to fall 114-107 to Charlotte in the opener of this five-game homestand.

“We have to do better at finishing games,” coach Alvin Gentry said. “The bottom line is that there was 1:17 to go and we never got possession of the ball on three missed shots.”

Nash is looking to build on one of his best performances of the season. He scored 27 points on 11 of 15 from the field, sinking all four 3-point attempts, and added 15 assists against the Bobcats.

He’s averaging 14.8 points and 10.0 assists in the last eight meetings with Boston.

Phoenix could use some consistency from Vince Carter(notes), who had 22 points on Wednesday to finish four shy of his total from the previous four games when he shot 25.0 percent from the floor and 4 of 17 from beyond the arc. The swingman made 8 of 17 shots - 5 of 8 from 3-point range - against the Bobcats.

Carter is averaging 24.3 points his last six meetings with Boston.

Tough game tonight, especially if Pierce is not 100%...and then being a back to back.

Looks ruff...but,maybe they will surprise me.

The NBA schedule-maker should be kicked in the ass...how is he gonna make them fly back and fourth like that?
They were in the Pacific time zone last night...now to go to Phoenix, they lose an hour by going back to Mountain time.
Then...back to LA and Pacific time...gotta fuck with your system.

Probably a relative of Beatdown...

1)they figured that portland would be good(if no injuries)
2)suns would be good(before the trades)
3)lakers (they OK:D).

and then the celtics have to play 7 national tv game in a 2 week span:eek::eek:
lakers(x2)
miami
orlando
Dallas
portland
suns
:smh::smh::smh::smh:

this will be a tough 2 week span, especially with all the injuries!!!!

Video: Ray Allen turns back the clock to slam a Rajon Rondo lob from half court!!!

No big deal, gang. Just an almost-36-year-old with more than 43,000 minutes of NBA wear on his tires taking advantage of porous transition defense, streaking to the cup, soaring to collect a — what would you call that? 43 feet? OK, let's go with that — 43-foot alley-oop and deposit it for an easy deuce. This is just the sort of thing we've come to expect from Ray Allen(notes), what with his non-stop rim assault that has resulted in seven dunks over the course of the 45 games he's played this season.

Really, though, judging by the response of Boston Celtics fans and NBA observers of all stripes on Twitter when the play went down last night, it seems like the only one who wasn't surprised that Ray could still do that was Rajon Rondo(notes). The general consensus seemed to be that this might have been the first alley-oop dunk that Ray's had since coming to Boston before the 2007-08 season. C'mon, Doc Rivers. Get this one into the playbook; it's clearly successful.

Allen also hit three of his six attempts from downtown against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night, finishing with 18 points to pace Boston as they started a West Coast road trip with an 88-78 win at the Rose Garden. Those 3-point makes pull Allen within 17 triples of tying Reggie Miller as the NBA's all-time leader in 3-point field goals made. NBA.com doesn't have official all-time dunk stats, but Allen is obviously closing in on that mark, too.

While fans always recognize the amazing physical gifts of explosive leapers and dunkers like LeBron James(notes), Blake Griffin(notes), JaVale McGee(notes) and Josh Smith(notes), we don't often think of career sharpshooters like Allen and Miller as similarly exceptional athletes. The differentiation is akin to how we separate (and, often, favor) top-flight sprinters like Usain Bolt over dominant marathon runners like Robert Cheruiyot; the precise, sustained, slow-boiling brilliance of the latter never seems imbued with the same electricity as the former, and most people naturally gravitate toward the brighter spark. Getting the occasional jolt from a distance king like Allen reminds you just how complete and remarkable an athletic specimen he is.

The guy really can do it all, including co-star in a "There Can Only Be One" commercial with Ben Wallace(notes). Such a jack of all trades.

Paul Pierce a Game-Time Decision in Phoenix With Right Thigh Bruise

7:45 p.m.: After knocking knees with a member of the Blazers on Thursday, Paul Pierce is labeled as questionable for Friday night's matchup in Phoenix.

Pierce has been diagnosed with a thigh bruise on his right leg, and though it's not serious, head coach Doc Rivers says the team doesn't need any more injuries to worry about.
Plus, he'll want to keep Pierce as healthy as possible for Sunday's matchup against the Lakers.

Pierce will be reevaluated before tip off, and will be a game-time decision.
8 a.m.: If you look at the standings and the numbers alone, you would think the Celtics have this one in the bag, no problem. Not so fast.

Though the Celtics are on a roll, winning seven of their last eight matchups, and are riding high on the return of Kendrick Perkins, they can't take the matchup with the middle-of-the-road Suns lightly.

The Suns are in the midst of a five-game homestand, while the Celtics are just kicking off their first legitimate west coast trip of the season. It doesn't help that the C's had a less-than 24-hour turnaround from Portland on Thursday to play in Phoenix on Friday.

Nonetheless, the Celtics had a solid showing against the Blazers, and set a physical tone for their three-game swing out west. They can't use up all their grit against the Suns, however, since they cap this trip with a Sunday afternoon clash with the rivaled Lakers.

On a more optimistic note, Shaquille O'Neal should be returning to action after missing three games with hip soreness. That means the return of Shaqtus to the U.S. Airways Center.

Kevin Garnett is the biggest bitch in the NBA.

Nigga came to Boston and suddenly got a pair; he wasn't NEARLY the bitch he is now when he was in scrub ass Minnesota.

i already called we were going to lose this off that back2back...we focused on LA anyway

no excuses though....we got our asses kicked tonight....we good though....we got a little breathing room on top of the east....
