Pelosi is already working on 2022
BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
October 26, 2020

With control of the House hardly contested, Pelosi is working to fortify Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and win extra House seats in case Congress is called on to resolve any Electoral College dispute with President Donald Trump.

Pelosi said she feels so confident Democrats will keep the House this election, she’s already preparing to win the next one in 2022.

“This year, I’m trying to win it two years in advance — by being so substantial in this election that as soon as we start into the next year, people will see our strength,” Pelosi told The Associated Press in an interview.

“We intend to hold the House and grow our numbers," she said about the election Nov. 3, and "contribute to winning the Senate and the presidency.”

It's a stunning turnaround for the speaker, who just two years ago was being challenged for her job leading House Democrats. Pelosi rose as the face of party, the House impeached the president and emboldened Democrats are on the march to pick up House seats deep into Trump country.

She did fine with regards to Trump but its time for her to retire. She has demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice the well being of the people in order to foil others (McConnell and Mnuchin). That is a sign that she has lost sight of her primary goal - to serve the people. That goes for a lot of the other old fuckers in office, too. McConnell needs to step down as Senate majority leader as well. Put these old folks in a home instead of the House.

Did she? I don't like her but let's not forget that the House passed a bill months ago that McConnell has sat on and refused to bring to a vote and as far as negotiations go Trump played himself and Mnuchin by publically calling off negotiations before changing his mind. At that point she had the cards on her side and I guess figured that she could get what she wanted in full.
They've all lost sight that their goal should be to serve the people and based on these election results they got away with it.

Personally she should go, Schumer is about as bad at his job as Democratic leader of the Senate as his niece Amy is at being funny and he can go to. McConnell can go but he's doing what the Republicans want him to do unlike both Pelosi and Schumer.

although I'm not a huge fan of her television presence (she sometimes sounds like somebody's drunk aunt)... she does know how to keep her side of the house on message and how to get the votes together for legislation she wants to push. Plus, she literally was able to put trump in his place once or twice in a way that really really made him mad... a woman standing up to him like that. So if she is replaced, they better replace her with someone who knows their shit about how shit works in that chamber.

I'm well aware of all of this.
I believe that she has decided to withhold taking any stimulus deals until Trump is completely out of office.
Many people have lost their jobs, homes and probably even some lives have been lost as a result of lack of assistance from the government. Bitch McConnell and Steve Mnuchin can roast in a microwave in aluminum foil suits for all I care but Nancy and her personal vendetta againt Trump strung along the American public beyond their limits and that proves that she needs to go, too. None of them care.
I believe its all political theater and they are just waving the stimulus package as a carrot until the vaccine drops, then its "take this shot, get back to work or starve" for everyone involved. I hope nobody is waiting for shit to happen. After all of this time, it probably won't. I blame all of them for their roles.
Even though the OP wrote this as a loaded question, I'm still answering it. She, McConnell and Steve Mnuchin all need to be taken out back and Old Yeller'd.

The house has passed like 3 bills. It was the Senate who adjourned as soon as they got ACB confirmed. It's not Nancy's fault. She and Mnuchin come to an agreement, and the WH or senate refuse to honor it. They are just sending him and wasting her time making it seem like they want an agreement, but Mitch is on record saying he doesn't want a stimulus package.

She impeached trump and gave him fits. She was the only thing standing between Trump and the Senate wrecking the country.

I've made that same case on other threads.
McConnell is the worst of the bunch by far. From the "two-hour rule" to refusing to negotiate to taking a month long vacation before this was resolved in July, believe me, I see him in the worst light. Mnuchin is not much better. BUT, I won't ignore Nancy's tactics, either. She went on record with "nothing is better than something" and I thought that was discouraging to people who may be in dire need as there are a lot of people stressed out and seeking the help of the government. She also refused bills and even when republicans and democrats came together to put a bill up that could have helped, she shot it down. Both parties are to blame, although the blame is not equal.
When government fails, they are all at fault. Neither of them put the people before their demands. That's a problem. I say toss em' to the fire and "chuck" Schumer, too. Pun intended.

She wasn't on board with the bills that were letting companies off when it came to covid related liability and corporate giveaways, but even when she agreed to standalone stuff, they wouldn't do it.

It was just reported McConnell might be on board with a large stimulus before Jan, but if he is willing to do that, it's only because KY is hurting or donors are demanding it.

The problem was that the House conceded all of their negotiating points before July (coming down from 3.4T to 2.2T and the Senate didn't budge. Then they dragged it out to make the House look like they were the bad guys while they sent bills that weren't going anywhere. I know.
STILL, I refuse to absolve government failure when everyone involved has the ability but not the will to do something.
So, fuck 'em all, and that includes Nancy. They are all millionaires and none of them had any personal risk behind the decisions they made. They unanimously voted for higher pay for themselves during all of this. They are failing the American people and Nancy Pelosi is not exempt, although I'm glad she had the balls to hold out past that 1.5T hack job of a bill. That was a terrible offer, despite what some on here believe.
Rich people only care about rich people, no matter what side of the isle they sit on. Its just varying degrees of greed and arrogance.

What power can she wield on largely important issues with McConnell turtle ass still there?

Its not like you can work with his ass.

As always, no matter what, dems always get the blame.

TIME FOR A CHANGE......Hate when folks stay too long, for their own purposes
It's time for a change but it shouldn't be just anybody. It certainly should be a liberal because that is not where this country is at. The party has to rebuild with some young compassionate conservative types.

I don't really think she has our best interest at heart.

Meaningful things for black ppl and police reform and such she wasn't with

She was with wearing a kente cloth and kneeling .

If Biden wins we can explore options

She isn't the only one who can do the job.

And if she's actually about the party and what's right she would advise whoever replaces her and give them the game on some things to ensure things were good right?

Keep her. A lot of freshmen Dems want to cooperate with 45 just to get $1200, or $600 or whatever just to show some progress.

At the cost of losing something else.

Pelosi knows what she's doing.

Don't believe the hype that the GOP and Bernie Bros are telling you about her.

She's good at handclaps and theatrics but what has she substantively accomplished?

I know, she helped pass Romneycare ten years ago. You got anything else?

It's been time for her to go and Perez who's head of the DNC needs to go as well. They spent all that money in those Senate races and didn't come close to winning in Maine, SC and Kentucky. :smh:
