@HNIC, would you consider it? I would become a dues paying member again, even if the results were not as I wished. The board needs to grow and current "leadership" is stale, unrepresentative, unaccountable and IMO just plain bad. BGOL is in need of revitalization and this could do it.

Roles should be clearly defined-- No more paper mods who don't actually moderate. We elect a core group of four and then supplemental roles as designated necessary by that main four. Certainly there should not be motherfucking @Matt Beesy "super moderators" who nobody fucking knows exists!

Mods should be elected annually by dues-paying BGOL members.

Damn good idea.... that's probably the fairest and most democratic way to do it....

.... but I can see HNIC sitting back and saying, "fuck you all, this aint no damn democracy, I own this shit.....

He has been complaining the board is stagnant for years. So it would be to his benefit to shake things up. Maybe the mods from Bush's first term aren't the best for 2021 if he wants it to continue or preferably grow.

So you and your faggot friends can buy the place out? Like what happened to Afro ComicCon? You are not even listed as a donor with that screen name.

Dues paying members can't even elect to have trolls booted and banned from the website permanently... we're told to "use the ignore feature" because it works so well... so this will NEVER happen...

Couldn't that change if the members voted for mods who pledge to?

To be considered, a poster would have to be a dues paying member and be nominated by at least ten dues paying members. @HNIC establishes a time period for this process and a timeline for the election.

After nominations are set, we have a thread where anybody can ask the nominees questions and they will have the chance to answer questions and state what they will do and how they will act as moderators.

So if members wanted trolls booted, that would happen if members only vote for mods who pledge to do so.

I don't know. But as a former mod on a different forum I will say this....

No mod should be mentally unhinged to the point they're acting like a e-dictator, constantly editing posts, banning people and especially exposing ip addresses. Point blank, they shouldn't take anything online from random strangers online. The person running the site should be able to notice and take switch actions removing the mod privileges.

Biggest red flag is when a mod takes moderating like a job :smh: with the exception of the site owner.

If you have an issue with a mod on any forums your VPN should be on. Despite not doing much with an IP address, crazies have nothing better to do than try to doxx people over e-beef. When I mod in the mid 2000s the site you can see the last 3 up address locations at each log in. Technology changed now so lord knows what's on the other side.

Two active 250 post threads started the same day on the same subject with damn near identical titles, but no merge for two years.

But if you call a mod a British bitch you'll be banned first thing in the morning. While his friend posts trannies with zero repercussion.

We need to build BGOL back better.

^^^^^^^^

Defeatist mentality. Citing the lack of influence dues paying members have under the existing system is a circular argument. Election of mods would give more influence to dues paying members.

In theory that’s a good idea but this board is a board of simps and niggas will vote a bitch in solely because she’s a bitch. And that useless bitch will ban niggas for dumb shit like not agreeing with her.

or, dumb migas will vote in a con-man who manipulates you into thinking he’s a savvy business man. Then, when he becomes a mod, he uses his privileges to hack info from paying members and banning anyone who calls him out as a fraud.
Or dumb niggas who can’t work a fucking Lamborghini

Then when we expose the piece of shit for bragging about a rental to a bunch of dudes who works as a valet driver

eat a enormous Tranny dick

Or a little pug looking imbecile who’s entire bgol existence has been to be accepted by a bunch of men. Creating stories of having a trap house to having a son named little cam to worshipping a grown man rapper ‘camron’ to pretending to have liver cancer, to pretending to be the father of the scrub who wears a Jordan jersey but it fits like a dress because he’s a 5’5 little bitch...yep... voting for mods would be a bad idea
My story is cooler than yours lol

and your name is Adonis

Well said! Some mods are cool but others get in their bitchmade emotions and start acting like HOA nazis.
