Yeah that shit is dead...360 has like maybe 4-5 more exclusive titles that I'd be interested in playing...but the exclusive games that PS3 has are better imo plus the wifi and bluray...

Im not downing either console. Soon I will own both. Xbox has always had better online play, and Sony has never gave a fuck about games. Sony just wants to push media formats, and Microsoft is trying to milk us dry by selling dumb shit on XBL. RROD sucks, but so does Playstation Online (Not Comparing the two).

I just want one game for the PS3. And then I'll probably only watch movies on it.

Sony's exclusives that moved systems are now their greatest hits collection. Check the ratings that RFOM of man got, there was also this lil racing game that they did, called uh Gran Turismo 5. Even though it wasn't the full blown game, just the prologue, people went ape shit when that came out.

I dont look at the industry at a fanboy level as far as what is cool now, its about what is effective and will yield the most profit in the long run. That said, it was a given Blu-Ray was gonna win, Sony pulled the same trick out the bag with the PS2, but the newest entertainment medium in the household affordably, and oh yeah, guess what, it plays games too and music. Now MS is dropping the price of the 360 because most dev's have admitted that they have maxed the capabilities of the system. So at this point, its a commodity. The PS3 is still considered nascent, and dev's are still learning how to best exploit its feature set, the more games are developed that will push the boundaries of technical excellence and hopefully fun.

Yes, 360 has its game. But people need to stop downplaying the ps3. Exclusives?!?! Resistance, Uncharted (which is still one of the best games I played period), Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, GT5p.... and whats coming out? Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm 2, Home, The Agency, God of War III, and bunch more I can't think of right now.


Both machines have its pros and cons. I just prefer the ps3. thats my thing.


BTW: note the ps3 80gb is now $399 (the price of the old 40gb). Also note you're getting a blu-ray player, wireless internet, PSN (which is free), and the ability to use any USB computer accessories and also any bluetooth headset. Yes its more then the 360, but logical people can see what you're getting with your buck.

I don't think Gears of War can be considered a console mover, It did the same thing COD4 did. The both came out the beginning of Nov. and became a Christmas Hit.

Gears by no doubt is a console mover. COD4 cant be in the category because its a multi-platformer. Anytime you have an exclusive thats a hit, IMHO its a console mover and that goes both ways.

Thats a vague arguement to make so Im not going to discuss which looks better, but I think the 360 controller was built better for sports games. The joysticks are in just the right spot for it and dont get me started on FPS's.

The reason PS Online is free is because its not as maintained as Xbox Live. Sony has some catching up to do on that avenue, but thats neither here nor there as thats not the reason Im buying a PS3.

I love my 360, but it fucked up AGAIN. I sent it in for the RROD, and now its doing this crazy two ring red ring that happens once in a while. Shit just shuts off. Its a overheating thing, and not just the standard RROD. I havent called MS yet, but I have to soon.

I'm in the same boat as other 360 heads, I love my 360, and want a PS3 for blu ray, but cant think of any PS3 only games that I want.

Resistance has a great campaign. multiplayer is overshadowed by better multiplayer shooters.. but the campaign is insane in superhuman mode as well.. turn out the lights when you play, the black levels bring back eerie days of early resident evil days...

i really like strategy games, civilization 4 is a great game

i didnt like ratchet and clank but others do...

i could talk to you about titles and so could everyone else but if you have both consoles just get a gamefly account, if your ps2 is backward compatible you can rent some of those ps2 classics you may have missed, i do

dont let so so reviews scare you, dark sector, condemned 2 are also great titles worth playing (not buying) on both systems but for a rental you can beat and have a great time...

Preface: I plan on getting a PS3 sometime in the next few months when they release some games I can't get for free on my computer (or EA stops making bullshit football).

That being said, the Xbox360 Arcade is only 200 bucks now, so if you absolutely NEED a 360 go with that; you already have the harddrive.

Otherwise, I'd say PS3.
