Short film, about Black Vampires and melanin ......deep shat

That's the dichotomy of it and that's the beauty. That's great writing right there because you want to feel sorry for her as a mother, the desire to see her kids but her ex sees her for what she is - an incontrollable monster

As a society, we're taught to abhor anyone who tries to take someone's kids away from them, to prevent them from seeing their children. So the scene in the beginning where the father but not let the mother near her children garners sympathy for her and hatred towards him...

But when you see the final scene, you see that he was right. That she had no reason or right to be around those kids

That shit was brilliant

Very interesting take, they pulled a lot of the vampire lore. Not being able to enter a home without permission was a deep cut (no pun intended)

She had more right than that father, the "stubborn" one that ratted her out what was the first thing she did when she saw that blood? Now she is the easy going child! Those kids need someone who can help with that hunger. They're on the playground and some kid gets a bloody nose or they get to middle school and a classmate gets on her period. These are scenarios that, that father is not equipped to handle. It's like mixed children there is always a parent that has no idea how to care for a child's physical needs. Hell white folks JUST learning about cocoa butter!

But to your point she is a monster for turning that child at such a young age. He technically stays that age forever now!

It was ambiguous though, I don't see it as she turned the daughter, but that the daughter already was one.

Because vampires are fictitious, you can go anywhere you want with the genre and nobody really should have anything to say about it. It is widely believed that if a vampire turns then they are vampires at that age forever, but does it have to be like that? What if they're half-breeds?

I also liked that even though I didn't know any of the actors in the movie it didn't seem low budget or the actors really seemed quality, they didn't have the super raw shouting their lines type of act

I think he's talking about the kid at the beginning in the hospital. Not sure if her sucking his blood out will turn him or not but it probably saved him by her sucking out the tainted blood. Of course, there's actual medical tech for that but for the sake of film, I guess we have to let it slide. She may or may not have turned him. We don't know the lore from such a short film with so little time to build the world.
This is reminiscent of that movie "The Girl With All The Gifts" (highly recommended). I won't say in what way, but if you've seen the movie, then you know what I mean, with regards to the protagonist.

I'll definitely check it out. I forgot about the kid in the hospital. There is history for that, I hate to quote in the Twilight series, but there's a certain point that your blood can be taken before you are turned in vampire lore, and their blood does have healing ability

Not bad. I need more world building though. The other "suckhead" (since we're quoting Blade) on the train gave the appearance that he just does it for fetish. Also I got impression the daughter could sense the mother's presence before she actually saw her across the street. Now let's not just breeze pass the fact that Dude has 2 kids with her.. That vampire pussy must be 'some kinda good' and that NECK!

same with True blood.

For those that watched True Blood back in the day, the lore stated as long as the Vampire didn't completely drain you, you wouldn't become a vampire.

There were multiple scenes in which people were getting high off of vampire blood (even becoming addicted to it). Meanwhile, a number of "fang bangers" were upset that Vampires would feed off of them but would not go all the way and turn them.

About the lil kid in the hospital I told ya they made a similar movie based on someone having a terminal illness and a vampire having compassion and turning them... Unfortunately in the movie it was a gift and a curse lol

Yo! This was dope! I recommended it to a lot of my friends when it came out. Its an indie film made by the two guys starring in it. They were actual friends, so all of those old pics they have when they were younger were real. Notice, I low-key name dropped it in an earlier post.

I didn't see it as turning either, it is one of those as long as you don't know OF the hunger, then you don't know OF the hunger.

You'd be surprised how well iPhones can shoot movie.
