That's the dichotomy of it and that's the beauty. That's great writing right there because you want to feel sorry for her as a mother, the desire to see her kids but her ex sees her for what she is - an incontrollable monster
As a society, we're taught to abhor anyone who tries to take someone's kids away from them, to prevent them from seeing their children. So the scene in the beginning where the father but not let the mother near her children garners sympathy for her and hatred towards him...
But when you see the final scene, you see that he was right. That she had no reason or right to be around those kids

Nah.. Vampire rules.. They can't come in your house unless you invite them in.. He didn't allow her in so she was unable to kill him... If you notice the daughter allowed her in the crib, once she was able to come in she was able to reek havoc... Also the old vampire gesture of reaching their hand out and prey/underlings reaching for it for acceptance
I'm trying to fig out are they saying she gave that lil boy a brand new life by making him a daywalker... If they are another vampire movie used that same theme in a vampire giving a sick/dying human a new chance at life but by being a vampire
One of the girls eyes changed to amber at the end, so at least one is.

Even though we saw her use her "affliction" for good, it is also just as likely that she would use her access for...access. If you need blood to survive, what better place to work? Knowing that at any point, she could lose control...ONE MISTAKE...ONE SLIP and he'd be minus his daughters, the dad was right to keep her away.

This really can turn into an action/drama with the husband hunting the ex to get the daughters back by either becoming a hunter...killing innocent and/or not so vampires to get the answers he needs which will make him into the monster that he resents or resulting in him accepting that path.

I don't think it's necessarily about keeping them safe and more about him losing his daughters human nature and them becoming like their mother... He know he got half breed kids... Under his control he'll raise them to be human and away from their vampire extincts... Under her watch well they might become vicious savages...he know his babymama capabilities and doesn't want his daughters to become her... It's kinda why at the end she said ya are more like me than you know and the young stubborn 1 finally accepted her wild side and her eyes glowed... Like I said vampire rituals with the hand reach out is will the victim/ underlings accept their faith.. The stubborn 1 was avoiding it until s he peeped her mom's savage side and now might want to become blood thirsty herself...she officially got turned out
