When someone “tells” you about a situation they can paint it as not so bad or better than it was. Most times if it’s bad they’re gonna try to describe it in a way as it wasn’t as bad as it seems. Take the Ray Rice incident, before the video the story was they were arguing and when they got in the elevator she tripped and hit her head and stuff like that, during the press conference she even APOLOGIZED for her role in what happened.
