Shannon Sharpe brought it....... damn

Skip says... "how do we solve it" He says this black on black gun violence.....

The fuck? I agreee. But none of things you spoke of have anything to do with black on black violence? You went from police killing to immediately saying the problem is black on black violence?

Salute to that brother! He would've been the last dude I thought would be saying this on TV but I'd be dead ass wrong. That man brought the full heat to the masses and shut down the bullshit retorts.

been a shannon fan since he predicted the cavs would come back from being down 3-1, and he would be at the parade.:money:

But you love tater tots tho.. You rat invested slum dwelling piece of shit.

So glad someone finally called out Drew Brees on his bullshit. And theres nothing wrong with admitting violence is an issue. He mentioned several but didnt attempt to deflect from the issue at hand. Hes absolutely right.

Just clarifying i liked the post independent of that last sentence.
The problem is that this, "violence is an issue," is not a black american issue as much as it is a human issue and an issue in every community on the planet. Anywhere where you find people in systematically and intentionally depressed communities you find the exact same kind of violence and the exact same types of oppressive policing. The outcomes are a result of the inputs.

The disproportionate amount of crime (and the types of violent ECONOMICALLY centered crime) that happen in black communities is a direct result of past and ongoing and continued systemic cultural and financial oppression. Jobs aren't money, business ownership is money. Housing isn't money, land ownership is money. A record deal or a sporting contract isn't money. Owning the means of production and the land on which your products are produced THAT is money. Everything else is just a distraction and a gift to the borrower subject to whims of the lender. Self control starts with control of self.

Agree with most of this. My point is Sharpe mentioning it does not deflect from the issue at hand. He makes a point to acknowledge it but not default to it. Doing so has become a necessity at this point as it serves to pre-empt the disingenuous rebuttals from bigots who knee jerk regurgitate it whenever faced with their racist bullshit.

Bet Skip is like, this is suppose to be my show, and Shannon stealing all his thunder. Skip behind the scenes is probably trying to get rid of Shannon

Whenever a mainstream media outlet like ESPN talks about racism, it wouldn't be complete about talking about black on black violence. Even though its a direct result and/or outcome of racism/white supremacy also.

Ask a white person, if America should focus on fighting ISIS when there's so much American-on-American crime here in the states? When's that going to stop!?

He's not just putting the blame on whites, he's also putting blame on blacks as well which is respectfully correct. Can't blame one group when the other group has it's own issues as well. Good interview.
