Thanks, JJ. He's one of Canada's best ... smart cat ... doing his grad or masters studies out on the westcoast in the past year or two.

Drake is hosting the show on Sunday night and has 5 other nominations. Great to see SHAD clock a nice upset win

TSOL is a great album.

Per Wikipedia - "Shad is bilingual, speaking English and French. He holds a business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.[7] He is studying part-time towards a master's degree in liberal studies at Simon Fraser University."

This kind of hip hop makes me proud to be Canadian. Shad keeps it G.:yes::yes:

No doubt, bro. A smart cat doing himself and his family/friends/fans proud. Good on him.

Been peepin dude since The Old Prince. Gotta check this new joint out...

Definitely check his work out, bro. He's got a few albums out already and has won 'Rap Recording of the Year' twice. His latest win was this past Saturday night during Juno Awards weekend (for the album TSOL), and he was a co-presenter at the show last night on CTV. With E and Muchmusic covering some of the red carpet event stuff, etc.

The Georgia Straight presents k-os and Shad, a co-headline performance at the Commodore Ballroom on November 25

Following the premier of the one-hour original concert special Much Music Presents: k-os, the genre-defying, Juno award-winning artist announces a co-headline date with fellow Canadian hip hop star Shad at the Commodore Ballroom over the Grey Cup weekend in Vancouver.

Throughout the special, k-os was joined by some of his most talented friends, including Emily Haines of Metric, Shad, Lights, Saukrates, and Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979. With recognizable hits including "Crabbuckit", "B-Boy Stance" and "Man I Used to Be", k-os had the highest chart debut for a Canadian hip hop artist with his 2004 album, Joyful Rebellion. In 2005, he won three Juno Awards: Single of the Year for "Crabbuckit", Rap Record of the Year for the album and Video of the Year for "B-Boy Stance".

Shad has quickly become one of Canada's most respected young artists—period. His third full length and most recent album, titled TSOL, gave fans more carefully crafted mix of hard-hitting, clever rhyme schemes and soul searching social commentary. Shad's skillful wordplay and smooth flow on his sophomore album The Old Prince, combined with his engaging live shows, and four outstanding music videos have allowed Shad to develop tribes of devout fans right across the globe.
