my first thought is that sex is only as oppressive to women as the personal relationship they have with their own sexuality.... if you have an unhealthy relationship with sex then YES it can be oppressive, but that's not a feminist issue, it's a human sexual health issue...... I can say as a woman in her 30s my relationship with physical intimacy has evolved beyond what it was in my late teens and twenties.... Early on? Again. Feminism isn't the fault. Feminism is STILL by product of the oppression, and feminism is just the interpretation of "i want equality". It's all about point of view. She's oppressed granted. She's a black female. Whites don't like her, and her own kind doesn't like her. It's easy to sit and attack someone else's perspective when you've never lived it though.

I don't agree with her. But to say she's wrong or stupid or to blame feminism for what she was created to be? Nah. I won't do that because feminism isn't the issue. The system we're brought up in is the issue. You hit it perfectly with what you very first wrote.

Feminism isn't ABOUT being a man. That's just how YOU perceive it because that's how you've been TAUGHT to perceive it. You want it to be that way because you can't seem to perceive any different way. It's about equality. You don't want women to inherently have equality by the way you speak, because you can't seem to grasp the argument of women wanting it. And then you keep making it be about something it totally is not.

When a person pops into the world and comes from a little box that they've never been outside of then YES. You'll have an argument about that persons views not being shaped by any outside influence. You learn and experience things in the world man. And each person sees things differently. But the way we black americans have been brought up has been a different experience. And you obviously don't see or understand that influence except for when it pertains to what you need it for to suit your argument.
