A recent survey asked that question and I was astounded by the answers.

A large number of people would rather give up sex or TV for two weeks than forego the Internet for the same length of time, according to an online survey scheduled to be released next week.

The Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) survey of 2,119 adults in November found that 46 percent of women and 30 percent of men would rather give up sex than go without the Internet for two weeks.

For women aged 18-34 the number was 49 percent, and for women aged 35-44 it was 52 percent. For men aged 18-34, it was 39 percent.

What would you choose?
Would your answer change at all if you were guaranteed to have the one if you gave up the other? For example, would it make a difference if you were assured of gettin busy those two weeks you went without internet access?

My answer simple: Im choosing Sex each time. Giving up the internet no doubt

I am amazed so many people would go with out it. Especially women.

Are most people just not getting the job done sexually so losing it is no big deal?

What say you people? Sex or internet?

I got two takes on this.

People who get sex regularly probably could go without it for two weeks. A lot of people do a lot of important shit on the net now like pay bills, make a living, etc. So sex vs. internet is not a fair question for them.

Two...people who don't get sex regularly probably don't give a fuck! You ARE on a porn board! :roflmao:

I CO-SIGN Andey, if you're not married or in a relationship, you may go on a two-week sex drought anyway, while the Internet is already very integrated into our daily lives.

If I was just to give up one of them for two weeks: it would be sex, the internet is crucial to work and home (and meanwhile I could use the Internet to "pass the time" and work on securing that sex after the two weeks are over anyway )

Which one to give up, if guaranteed the other: Definitely give up the internet! If I was guaranteed two weeks straight, hell I wouldn't be in any condition to be near the net! Throw in a vacation then it would be on!

Side Question: Say you were on a trip/cruise/fantastic vacation (assume friends, family, work would know you're safe, etc.). How long could you go without the net and communicating (Cell, etc) to those back home?

I think it has nothing or very little to do with the quality of sex you are getting....

The internet is addictive,it can be like a bad drug habit,so I'm not surprise that ppl would choose the internet over sex, especially it is only for 2 weeks.

If I'm on this trip without wifey and the kids then i couldn't go too long without communicating, probably two days the longest.

If I'm on this trip with wifey and the kids then i could go days/weeks/months without communicating with the rest of my family.

I would give up sex. I can always get myself off in the meantime... perhaps with the assistance of the internet :D

I'd give up sex two weeks isn't that long when you are single.

Life if I am having a good time.

WHY NOT DO BOTH?

I'd have to say it will be so much easier to give up sex for 2 weeks...

The internet is so ingrained in our daily lives, i use it for work, i use it at work for personal stuff, i use it on my black berry... I can go without TV, but i need my connectivity..

I would say sex. I pay all my bills online except rent. I got my work email to check. And I aint had sex in about 2 or 3 weeks anyway so I think I would be alright.

This is a hard one. Hmmmm Sex or internet. I think I could go without sex for 2 weeks. As peeps have mentioned above, the internet is very much part of our everyday life nowadays.

Don't know what I would do if I didn't have the internet....

Okay I hear what most are saying about work and bills etc. But I was going off the idea that is was giving up the internet for leisure/fun, not work etc. And I also took it literally NO sex, including no self-love. ;) So with those two parameters added, does it change anyone's answer?

That's what Im sayin

I could go quite awhile. I would say at least a month if not more. Once you get off the net, you adapt pretty fast to being without it. Same with cell phones etc. I mean what did people do before the internet?

I mean what did people do before the internet?

Actually used checks, stamps, and envelopes to mail-in bills (or before then was sent by your parents "downtown" to the phone and electric company offices to pay the bill in person!)

Kept your work material at work and did work there.

Went to a place called a "library" and read these things called "books" and "encyclopedias" to do homework and research reports.

Chatted in physical rooms where a bunch of people actually were in and were having conversations.

Communicated with someone in person that you were interested in dating.

Actually bought music and movies from a brick and mortar store.

Went into shady stores (hopefully without being seen) to buy your collection of porn video tapes and magazines

LOL! I remember doing all those things. *except the sketchy store/porn thing...thats all on you!:lol:*

Isn't is amazing? The net ain't that old. Can you imagine what our lives are gonna be like in 20 years?

Hell I have been married for 15 years and I can promise you I can go without sex for 2 weeks and then some. :smh::smh:

Damn :smh::smh: I guess being married automatically gears one for the 2-week drought periods :smh::smh:

I guess they should have categorized the answers between those that were married vs. those that were single

I think I'd give up the sex for 2 weeks. Like a few others, I've been laid maybe once in the last 2 weeks, so no biggie. And when I had a chance to get some last night, I passed...if I can't have it how I want it, I ain't interested. Getting online is damn near addictive. I'd rather have the net then TV.

I hear that about the addictive qualities of the internet...I rarely watch TV these days, but a bulk of my job depends on my access to the internet and web connection for various documents, etc.

Sex, eh... no comment

You all do know that sex with yourself is still sex right? Fuck 2 weeks, try 5 months of neither with no masterbation...:hmm:
