Secret Wars 09

OK seems like they brought it down to the OGs

I like that.

I don't know if this is also a shot at Fox. Showing them how they are SUPPOSED to write FF.

I'm downloading it now. I'll read it then give me assessment and maybe post some screen shots.

OK I read it. The ending was a bit of a let down and I get the feeling they started and really didn't know how to end it.

Still what I do like is that no matter what, even with whole universes at stake it comes down to Reed and Victor...its always about those two.

Jesus....if Marvel could get back the rights to Fantastic Four the potential with Reed and Doom would be AMAZING.

This was good:

The first confrontation was dope. The whole fight between Tchalla and Doom was DOOOOOOOOOOOOPE. And then when Reed and Doom. And Doom was in his fuckin FEELINS! Insecure bitch. All this time. All that power. And the ego on this guy is still hurt. I've been arguing with some people all day about what did Tchalla do with the Time Gem. We can't figure it out. Like if he went back in time and change something he couldn't have gone back in time on that planet. He would've had to go back and mess with something in 616 reality. But how? Bendis got some splainin to do.

Still mad these dudes gave Doom no credit. Just showed up and started plotting to over throw his ass pronto.

For all his talk about fixing everything, Reed barely saved himself at first. Illuminati and Cabal both. Plus Maker is 1000x the mass murdered Doom is, but was an allie somehow :smh:

Would be interesting to see those 2 Reeds meet again somewhere down the line...wouldve been even more interesting if they wouldve somehow bumped into each other during the Counsel of Reeds arc.

Wow! not a bad ending but the Freedom Foundation left to rebuild the entire universe?
So Marvel definitely taking a new leap with the direction of their comics no going back to the old days.

I don't think 616 reed knows what the Maker did in his universe. And that was funny because you make it sound like Doom wasn't still DOOM. lol I kinda agree but i mean Doom probably thought he was doing right in his twisted mind. And that's where he had to admit Reed would've done it better. Because if it came down to it if Reed had all that power we know shit wouldn't have turned out like Battleworld at all. That shit just ain't in him. As for the rest of that storyline well Reed is around and the Maker is around in the new U. So i think it's entirely possible for them to bump into each other again.

I agree Reed can't possibly know what Maker did in the UU.

Yeah Doom is Doom, thinks very highly of himself and thinks he's born to rule. But all things equal, as the incursion events were happening and when the end finally came for the old Marvel, it was Doom who did what Reed and them (with all their planning and world killing) could not: get the better of the Beyonders and save something other than just a handful of folks.

Now you can say Doom saved them just to lord over them, but damn, at least they didn't DIE in the incursions. He saved those folks.

Think about this: Where would ANY of the raftees be if Doom hadn't created Battleworld?

I hear what you're saying but i don't think the thing of..."Well i saved some people." Just to pretty much shit on their lives afterwards. lol Naw

I think folks were relatively "free" but had to obey rules and laws, like any other society. I admit I didnt read every single tie in tho. In my opinion the barons were on par as far as being power hungry, and seemed to want to over throw Doom just because "its Doom....and Im more fit to rule. ". Same reason the Raftees/Loser ass Illuminati/ and the Cabal did. Doom was actually the only one that wanted to talk or compromise.

Why didnt Reed think of doing what Doom did if he's so much "better"? They have just as much blood on their hands from ALL those worlds they killed during incursion events and really had nothing to show for it.

To me it's all about who he let be Barons. Maestro. Sinister for godssakes. Apocalypse...i think the only decent people who were Barons were AForce and Brian Braddock. All the others were shit Tyrants. Do you think Reed would've chosen those people and then just given them Carte Blance? The raftees were heroes. And Doom was the prime evil. They knew he was evil. They knew doom. Eveyone of them has had issues with Doom in the past. They knew what Doom was. They knew Doom couldn't be left in power. You're one of those guys who think Doom's an ok dude. Just misunderstood. lol I like those guys.

Everything Doom allowed and did was his fault though. They only destroyed 1 world remember? The world where the fought the faux Justice League. The rest of the worlds were destroyed by namor and them. And they destroyed that world cuz they had no other choice. Man i like you lol

Think of it from this perspective. When Doom finally had all the power in thwe world, when he made himself god the first thing he did was make himself Reed Richards. Married to Susan, has kids Franklin and Valeria, etc etc. Also makes sure the other cpoies of the Thing and Human Torch are locked away where they can't fuck with him.

I guess I am kind of a Doom apologist at this point. Esp after also reading Hickman's FF run + Avengers + NA and now SWs..

1) Doom helped Reed come up with a plan to stop the 2 alternate Reeds, and they never would have beaten the Mad Celestials w/o Doom's help. So we learned its ok to treat Doom like he's worth a damn when they need his help. Meanwhile Counsel of Reeds' are goin around to every alternate universe and lobotomizing every alternate VV Doom so that they don't cause any trouble.

(as an aside: I think we can agree that there must be good and bad versions of everyone throughout the multiverse, even Reed as we see. How they gonna go just make all them Doom's vegitables?)

2) So Im willing to give Doom the benefit of the doubt because I think he did a pretty good job given the circumstances.

I will say that I agree with you as far as who he let be Barons. But some of those regions populated by who knows who probably needed tyrants as Barons. Places like Acadia and wherever Medusa was Baron had "normal" populations with just barons and people that appeared to live normal lives. Oh and Forest Hills/Kovacs, etc.

Anyway, I still feel like in the end, they take advantage of Doom when they need him, and didnt give him enough credit when all was said and done. Hickman's FF run doesn't paint Doom as a villain imo. He has a complicated relationship with them, but he's Valeria's god-father for Doomsake..

One way or another, w/o Doom they'd all be dead (either at the hands of the Mad Celestials, or in the final incursion).

Yea, true. But he had his reasons ...if Iw as him I would've kept them fools from meddling with my plans again too

You know...that's right. I thought of it as more a punishment. Doom being...a bitch. He made Johnny the sun and Made Ben the fuckin wall. He did that because of the inherent detestable fear he has of them. So he removed them.

Doom's biggest fear is the Fantastic Four and the fact they're family. They'll do anything for each other and that's is why the best Doom every time.

I don't agree with your views on Doom. But i definitely respect the hell out of your opinion. I don't like any of the shit he did and i accept it because it's Doom. He's a shit dude. And so like...everything he does to me is gonna turn t0 shit somehow lol

Its funny because I had no opinion of Doom, and was no fan of his...until I went back and read Hickman's FF run. Ive certainly come to respect what he brings to the table. Im sure there's plenty on him that I havent read, but through Hickman's character building alone, I admire Doom for doing what needs to be done.
