This is unfortunate but this is why our young one's especially our daughters need fathers to protect them from these monsters. This is appalling what happened to her and guess what? she was being taken care by a single mother go figure! This is just more of an indictment for for strong black families. She did do a rough crime she still a child. She had a rough life and was abused and brainwashed at a young age. The problem is America doesn't try to rehabilitate prisoners. Does it benefit the public to rehabilitate a person and put them back in society or does it benefit the public to put them on permanent public assistance?
It benefits the prison industry because this is how they get their slaves. There is a huge margin between life +four years (how would they make her serve that?) and releasing her off the basis of her emotional abuse. They make no attempt at rehabilitation because that is not profitable for them. Life in prison = slavery. This is how they built America and this is how they plan to "return it to its old glory" as they say.
This chick fucked up. Yes. Just because you don't believe a teen ager should spend the rest of their life in jail doesn't mean you believe they should go free. There is a lot of room in there. That sort of thing should be determined on an INDIVIDUAL basis, not by one set of rules because every circumstance is different. Some people can be helped and some can't.

I'm reading that her sentence was already commuted to 25 years with possibility of parole by Schwarzenegger when he was in office, so her old sentence probably won't be affected by that supreme court ruling I guess... even if they decide to grandfather older cases in.
Just reading up on it though, I can't see how she got such a harsh sentence, and I'm assuming she had a shit lawyer. Killing a pimp that put you on the streets at age 13 might be a homicide, but shit, she was still a kid when she committed the crime, so the age combined with what he had done to her should have been enough for a much more lenient sentence unless there's a lot more to it (and there may very well be).
Also, she turned down a deal during her original trial that would have given her a chance at parole.

Fuck her and her rights!! She took a life, and her's needs to be taken... regardless of situation or age! I hate when people talk that stupid leniency shit based on age or race! The Dude she killed didn't have a chance and his life cannot be given back to him so neither should hers... I hope if she does get a lighter sentence, someone from his family finds her and guts her like a fucking fish!!! Fuck killers, of all ages and races...
