The DivaCup™: An Overview The DivaCup™ Menstrual Solution is a leading-edge menstrual cup. The first innovation of its kind in 50 years! This newly designed and greatly improved product is the leader in the menstrual cup category, worldwide. It is modern and easy-to-use.
Leading-Edge Menstrual Innovation:
After 10 years of successfully selling menstrual cups worldwide, a forward-thinking mother-daughter team made structural improvements and now manufactures the product out of medical grade silicone. This modern material is the same type of silicone used in knee replacements and heart valves. This makes The DivaCup™ comfortable, clean, reliable and reusable. The revolutionary product is latex-free and hypoallergenic.
“With all the state-of-the-art conveniences Western society has developed, it baffles me why we are still using out-dated feminine hygiene concepts,” explains Francine, who had the concept of a menstrual cup in her head for over 25 years.
The Environment:
The 41 year menstruation span (women 11-52 years) creates billions of pounds of disposable feminine hygiene products that are “dumped” into the environment each year. In 1998, the annual figures, for the U.S. alone, were estimated at 12 billion sanitary pads and 7 billion tampons. This kind of influx into landfills is creating a concern, among not only environmentalists, but informed women. Because The DivaCup is reusable it is ecological and economical, it is seen as a viable solution.
“We are committed to decreasing this serious eco-footprint by offering The DivaCup™”, states Carinne Chambers who began the company with her mother, Francine, after completing an Honors Bachelor of Business degree from the prestigious Wilfrid Laurier University.
Women’s Health:
Because the menstrual cup has never been linked to Toxic Shock Syndrome, women are putting their concern for health to the forefront by purchasing this ground-breaking alternative. Also, it does not affect important vaginal moisture, making it a perfect alternative or supplement to tampons or pads
Convenience:
The DivaCup™ is the cleanest, most, comfortable, convenient and reliable form of feminine hygiene available today. It is sanitary and odorless. The DivaCup™ offers ultimate freedom: daily activities, including sports such as swimming, as well as traveling with no messy “leaks” are made possible with The DivaCup™. The expense and inconvenience of buying and carrying supplies in all shapes, sizes and absorbencies is eliminated.
It is perfect for women of all ages: from teenagers to those approaching menopause. The DivaCup™ will accommodate one’s individual and changing flow, neatly collected in the cup. The DivaCup™ can be worn for up to 12 hours and holds even heavy flows. It is removed 2-3 times a day, emptied and reinserted. The DivaCup™ can be worn overnight.
Two models have been developed to meet the needs of every woman:
Model 1: For women under 30 years old who have never delivered vaginally or by c-section.
Model 2: For women who have delivered vaginally or by c-section and/or who are over 30 years old and have not delivered vaginally or by c-section.
*Easy-to-use instructions enclosed
*Storage Bag and Diva Lapel Pin included!

Something similar to this was actually marketed about 10 years ago. . .

The problem with the product was it moving out of place and allowing blood to flow through.

I really don't like the idea of it. . . you have to dump the cup of blood after so many hours. . :smh:

I know right...the thought of that kinda turns me off. I mean damn I hate what I gotta deal with now.

From what I have read up on it is that you gotta be a bit more patient when inserting it. Gotta get it just right or like you said there will be leaks.
I don't know that I have the patience :smh: But I really like the environmental aspect.

Peace

the last thing i need is to be somewhere wearing that damn diva cup and spill the cup all over my pants
